Description So I'm actually doing it. Heh, as you will find out, this probably is not the best tutorial, and it's quite similar to others already out there. But really, I'm mostly doing it for me. In case I get called on something again I can point here and say "Neener, neener!"

And I'm doing it for those of you who asked for one. ^_^

So, here's the tutorial.

The subject, by the way, is of my new little muse, a Baby Nimmo on Neopets (I don't own one, but I'd like to). If you don't know Neopets, then he's just a freaky tadpole thing. I know his right eye is really really wonky, but I wanted to get this done.

Enjoy!

I'm having problems with the right click erasing step. It does opposite what you said, like if I had a black sketch already and I put a bright color on top, I right click with the eraser and it erases the color, not the black. Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong!!

I have the same problem. :c
It's probably the older version of paint that does the color-swap thing.

easier way to get rid of the base sketch (if done in one constant color and shade)
after doing your lineart, fill the empty spaces with the color of your sketch, then go back and fill with white again

When I erase my lines with the color replacer all the lines go erase, including the main line I want to stay. Do you know if there is anything I might be doing wrong?

Hopefully I don't forget to follow your tutorial when I'm trying to do some pixel by pixel drawing. .___.

I'd favorite all of the other ones too, but I don't want to look like I'm spazbombing your inbox.

Thanks! I went ahead and used this tutorial for my wolf pic, I didn't go as far though like you, I stoped after I thought the shading was enough ( It got confusing ) but I shaded everything. I did not know that you could do that eraser trick for line art! You can imagine what a timesaver that is!

Come see it if you want!

Oh my gosh. Your amazing! The only problem i am having is, drawing it and High Lighting it. Do you think i could draw the picture at in my house ( Not on the computer) And then take a photo of it? Cause i can't seem to draw a picture! It's real hard! And, for HighLighting Lighting, i have no idea on how you do that. It's really hard too. Cause i tried drawing a frog on MSP and it was pretty good, but once i got to High Lighting, it looked so stupid! I have no clue how you High Light, Pleas Will you tell me how, or email me at webkinzlover@inbox.com ? Because it wont work! It's really hard and frustrating, and i really want to draw a image on MSP. But, it wont work! How do you do it? Pleas email me back. I would really appreciate it! Thanks, Or, Just tell me what i am doing wrong on here, thanks again. Bye!

The whole thing is a little frustrateing, because it's paint. make sure you'll have enough patience.

Just draw a mini sunabove your pic, and imagine where the shadows will be and where the light is concentrated on choose a base color, and use the color tool to make the base color lighter or darker and shade. You really don't have to do too much because the effect still looks good.

I did the same thing in my picture here.

im in the middle of ur tutorial and i drew ur frog so on the rubbing out the the black marks it doesent work because of the diffrnt shades of pen and pencil. apart from that this rules

OMG! I can't believe I didn't figure that out in all the time I've been using MS Paint. I figured out a lot of nifty little tricks with the erase button, but somehow never figured out about the color replacer. Well, that will make things simpler.

This tutorial is a godsend. I read all of the parts. I use MSPaint a lot, but I had no idea transparency could be done. Before reading this, I just used the spray can to make an effect of transparency.
