Description
For a long time now I've tried to create my own version of a kirin, with disappointing results. Until now! I am pleased with how it came out.........watercolor, with a bit of Prismacolor pencil detail on the scales.Related content

one of my favorite animes is one called twelve kingdoms based on a novel series. in the book, each kingdom is given a ruler and a kirin which must choose the ruler. the kirin is a beautiful white unicorn that can change into human form. basically, it looks exactly like what you have here, except white. it's a magnificent series if you're ever interested. i highly recomend it!

A very dignified looking creature by how s/he is postured and by the steely gaze.
Possibly, something less brown for the background could have enhanced the main subject. I'm not sure, but having a dark background has made many of the features stand out nicely(mostly the hair).
The golden hair blowing in the wind really adds to the appeal. A good contrast to the more earthy colours.
A great use of watercolours, well done.
