Description Wow this is late... I wanted to do something for the Snowstorm event but never got the chance when it was still current and just the other day I got around to it. I'm actually pretty proud of this but I know I could've done better on the shading.
Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood was standing at the edge of camp, making her way towards the Camp Entrance. The wind howled in the willows above, and it bit at her fur and skin. It stung like bees in her skin, and she was tempted to go right back to her nest. However, the russet she cat was determined to go catch prey of some sort. Amberwood had watched a few other meager patrols come and go, but even before the storm had reached its peak, nothing had come to show for it. It was a bit ridiculous to assume she could do what several other cats couldn't, but she thought she would go crazy if she just laid around all day.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing sat idly in front of the leaders den, his ears pinned back and rustic fur rippling in the snowy wind. His green eyes were narrowed and his thick tail was wrapped around his paws in a weak attempt to keep them warm, but there was no point since his paws were practically frozen. Defeatedly the tom sighed, leaf-bare had taken a turn for the worst and the clans had been cascaded in a seemingly forever lasting snow. "StarClan give mercy," He muttered under his breath, watching as it billowed out from his jaws like smoke. Among the white, the rusty tabby caught sight of Amberwood and quickly got to his paws and pranced towards her, awkwardly stepping through the growing snow mounds. "You don't plan on going out in this weather, do you?" He growled.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood perked her ears as she heard a voice break through the sound of the wind. She recognized it instantly of course, although the growling tone to it made her frown as she turned around to look at Cardinalwing. "Yes, I do." She said, nose wrinkling. "No patrol has brought back prey today, and I can't just sit around and wait." The russet she cat explained, tail resting briefly on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. Even when he didn't look happy, her heart still fluttered upon seeing him. It felt kind of silly, but it was true.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing quickly lashed his tail as he waddled over, clear annoyance smearing across his maw; however it was mainly directed at the bad weather. "That may be but I'm not letting you go out there alone," He meowed, softening his tone slightly when reaching the she-cats side. Cardinalwing couldn't help but be protective over the young warrior, even during her apprenticeship he had a tendency of constantly looking out for her. At times when he noticed his protectiveness, he often questioned himself if it annoyed her.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood paused, then nodded. She hadn't counted on company- she certainly wouldn't ask someone else to drag their tail out into this storm- but if it was Cardinalwing she didn't think she would mind. "Okay." She said, offering a smile.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Slightly relieved the she-cat didn't object to him accompanying her, he stifled a small sigh. "Let's go then, we don't wont to linger," He meowed, fighting the roaring winds for volume. Swiftly the rustic tabby brushed through the practically frozen entrance and out into the barren wastelands. When entering the snowy terrain, Cardinalwing couldn't help but feel lost as endless sheets of white blurred his vision. "Great StarClan!" He exclaimed, fighting back a sharp hiss as the cold ripped at his skin, "The things we do to for our clans!"

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood followed, hissing as the wind grew even stronger as they exited the camp. She instantly began to doubt her decision to come out here in the first place, a flurry of snow blocking her view for a moment. "No kidding!" She meowed, pawing at her eyes and looking around at the world of white. She had to struggle to keep Cardinalwing in sight even though he wasn't too far. "At this rate all the prey will be frozen."

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing swiftly camp to a halt, squinting his eyes in an attempt to see through the snow. "I don't even know where we'd start to even look!" He meowed, still struggling to have himself heard through the howling winds, "We could try the barn but the last time I went hunting there I couldn't get in! Chances are its still blocked off." Awkwardly he spun around in a slow circle, trying to identify some sort of land mark but with all the snow it was hard to tell what was what.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood nodded. Hearing him was a bit hard, but she heard enough words to get the gist. The barn was out of the question.. She looked around, ears perking as she thought she was a small set of old prints in the snow. It was hard to tell, but they might be something. "There's something here." She said, a bit too engrossed in padding in the direction of the paw prints to raise her voice.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Awkwardly Cardinal twitched his scarred ears at Amberwood's distant murmur, "What?" He meowed, swiftly turning to face the she-cat only to find white. "Amberwood?!" He called, barely able to hear his own voice, "Amberwood!" In panic, the tom desperately bounded through the snow, his pace so and weighted down due to the snow that almost reached his chest. Awkwardly pushing through the snow, the tom paused when returning to where the two had been talking mere moments ago, their tracks almost completely covered over. "Amberwood!" He cried, feeling as if he were a kit calling for its mother.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood slunk through the snow, leaping a few times awkwardly in an attempt to jump over some deeper patches of snow. Her ear flicked and she looked behind her. "What did you-?" The russet she cat began, but her voice failed her as she only saw white. "Cardinalwing?" She started, looking around. His familiar red pelt was no where in sight, and worry bit at her stomach. "Cardinalwing?!" She spun around, instantly realizing her mistake as she very suddenly lost all sense of direction. "Mouse dung..."

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing desperately searched through the collecting snow, his once red pelt now dusted with white. "Why did I let us come out here?" He snarled at himself, giving a pitiful cry as a harsh wind stabbed at him. "Amberwood!" He called again, awkwardly stepping through the mounds of snow with a sick feeling burning in his gut. What if he'd never find her? What if the bitter cold had taken its toll on her? As the tom paced along, he couldn't help but choke up at the thought of loosing the young warrior to this forsaken season.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood's ear flicked and she looked sharply in the direction of the sound that she had heard. She wasn't even entirely sure what it was that she had heard, but she was almost certain that something had distinguished itself from the wind, if even for a moment. "Cardinalwing!" She shouted, bounding in that direction. After a few leaps through the snow, though, she hesitated. What if she was just going further in the wrong direction, and the sound she heard was just the wind playing tricks on her? Her paws were cold, and she was beginning to shiver. "Cardinalwing...?"

Cat-Whiskerss:

A sudden flicker of hope burst through the tom when hearing the murmur of a distant voice, "Amberwood!" He hollered back, praying to StarClan that the two had found each other through the blizzard. Awkwardly the tom slithered through the snow, forcefully pushing through the wind that whipped at his skin and tattered pelt. "Where are you?!" He meowed, weakly blinking snow from his eyes.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood's ears perked again as she heard a voice. She was fairly certain it was Cardinalwing's, after all who else could it be? She looked around, bounding towards the only recognizable thing she could find; A tall pine tree. She was fairly certain she knew this tree, but they couldn't possibly have wandered this far from Camp... Could they? "Go to the pine!" She practically screamed into the wind, praying he could hear it. Her heart was beating like the hoofbeats of the horses at the farm. He had to find her. If he got hurt because she was too stubborn, then she would never forgive herself. She hadn't realized just how scared she was until she felt a sharp coldness on her cheek, as the cold bit at the tears that trailed down them.

Cat-Whiskerss:

As the tom trekked on, words became more audible and he quickly searched for the pine Amberwood had told him to go to. Determinedly Cardinalwing squinted through the dense wall of snow that poured down, a sudden chirp coming from his maw when spotting the silhouette of a large pine tree in the distance. Without hesitation, Cardinalwing pressed on towards the tree, silently questioning how far they had really gotten.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood stood quietly, trembling as the cold seeped into her fur. She wished desperately to crawl underneath the safety of the pine tree where at least some of the biting wind would be shielded from her, but she didn't move. If she crawled underneath the tree Cardinalwing might not see her when he came to pass, and then she would be in more trouble. And of course he would come find her. He always did... "Cardinalwing!"

Cat-Whiskerss:

When finally reaching the tree, the tom was panting from forcefully fighting through the thick snow. Suddenly his ears flickered when his name was called and instinctively he turned to look, a russet blur shuffling among the heavy falling snow. Without thinking Cardinalwing lunged forwards, practically crumbling when reaching the young warrior. "Are you okay?" He meowed, his tone clearly filled with worry.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood didn't notice him approaching until he was right beside her. She let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding, the cold air stinging her lungs. She paid it no mind as she buried her muzzle in his fur. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to run off, I just..."

Cat-Whiskerss:

"It's okay, it's okay," He meowed, trying to hide the slight shakiness to his voice while calming her. Swiftly Cardinalwing swept his tail around her and mimicked her by burying his muzzle into her fur, desperately longing to shut out the swirling storm around them.

Chasing-Fables:

After few moments, she realized how childish she was being. They were okay now, they had found eachother. But the comfort of his fur was too much, and she didn't really want to move away. She took a deep breath, regaining her composure enough to look up at him. "Lets wait under here.." She said, glancing underneath the pinetree. A snow drift had sheltered off part of it from the snow and wind, so it wasn't too bad at least. At the very least, she didn't want to walk around in this storm anymore.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing sat silent for a moment before giving a nod at her comment, "We'd never make it home through this anyways," He meowed, glancing up to see the raging storm of white. I only hope we don't freeze to death, He thought, not daring to share his thoughts for the fear of worrying Amberwood even more. Slowly the tom glanced around before perking his ears at a broken branch the was progressively becoming covered in snow. Awkwardly he shifted to face it before grasping the large branch in his jaws and attempting to pull the branch out from the mound of snow.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood watched him grasp the branch and she moved to help him without a second thought, even though she was mostly confused as to what exactly he was doing. "Why are we doing this?" She asked, blinking. She sneezed as she breathed in a bit more snow then she liked, but she managed to still help him pull at it.

Cat-Whiskerss:

The rustic tabby flashed her a quick thankful glanced before continuing to haul the branch around, "'Cause it'll give us some shelter," he muttered through a mouthful of branch. Finally, in his last efforts, the tom awkwardly propped the branch up on the pine trees trunk, cocking his head a few times before attempting to move it another way to make it stand properly. "There." Cardinalwing snorted, taking a paw and brushing off a light dusting of snow from his maw.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood helped him set it in place, nodding. "Good." Her voice sounded unsteady, her teeth beginning to chatter from the cold. She shuddered and crawled underneath their new shelter. It still wasn't very warm, but at least it kept the wind off of them, and that alone made her sigh in relief. "Ung... That's better." She said, curling up tightly to be sure to leave plenty of room for him.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinalwing couldn't help but give a worried sigh, if the snow didn't stop soon he feared that they'd either be buried alive or die from the cold. Awkwardly the rustic tom crawled into the sheltered crevasse, silently curling up beside Amberwood with a groan, "Did I mention I hate the snow?"

Chasing-Fables:

She burst into laughter, unable to help it. It was so unexpected and completely Cardinalwing that it relaxed her probably more then anything else he could have said. She smiled, pressing against him, both in affection and for warmth. "Haha. I do too." She said, purring slightly.

Cat-Whiskerss:

Cardinal couldn't help but crack up slightly as well, her laughter instantly brightening his mood. It had been a long leaf-bare, and it was still far from over, and it was nice to be able to smile once in a while. Slowly, he stifled out a purr before resting his head on his paws and glancing over at Amberwood with a small sigh, slightly unsure if it was a sigh of happiness or a sigh of worry.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood heard him sigh and she frowned slightly, looking at the cold white world outside their little shelter and it occurred to her they might die here. "We'll be okay." She said, both to him and herself. The fear of dying out here was nothing compared to how she had felt when she had lost Cardinalwing.

Cat-Whiskerss:

"I hope so," He murmured quietly, desperately attempting to keep his mind free of dying from the cold. If they thought that'd way, it'd really happen. They had to stay strong to outlast the treacherous season. Besides, he couldn't bare to think of waking up dead, or worse, without Amberwood.

Chasing-Fables:

Amberwood was silent for some time, her paws curled up underneath her chest to keep them warm, and her tail wrapped around as much of her as it could. Thankfully, being so close to eachother's bodies did seem to help with the warmth. She sighed, glancing over at Cardinalwing. His expression of worry worried her more, but she didn't know what to say to reassure him.
