Fireworks must be fun though. Its a vector based program isn't it? I tried CS3 for photoshop but it was too much of a ram hog for my poor laptop; but cs does its job pretty well I think. I do agree prices are super crazy. To think the adobe company wonder's why their programs are ripped and torrent downloaded so much.

i run it on a custom gaming computer.
with 4gb ram i can run WOW and CS3 at same time...but i understand the laptop ram issue...

Adobe is very expensive, but thankfully upgrades every version aren't necessary. I own CS3 and did have the previous versions. There isn't a great difference between them - in fact the biggest change I can think of is the way the Palettes dock now. As for the other addon apps, I don't rate Bridge or InCopy;if you're using Photoshop for painting they're quite pointless.
