These boots weren't made for walking.

Boots worn by some tank crews are distinct from the usual combat boots by having leather straps instead of laces, which were more secure and eliminated the risk of shoes laces getting caught inside the vehicle on some moving parts, especially around the turret ring.

I've got to get me one of these.
