CONFESSION.

My message centre is now reaching truly intimidating numbers because i've been faffing all day making this - the idea i first thought of for the =cOnceptualise contest, before i realised it needed all 3 words xD But i decided to do it anyway. A nice dark spin on the happy associated title. God i hate Meg Ryan.

(FULL VIEW for the caked blood. it dries so quickly! but i guess its fitting for it to be dried up in this image)

I'm so happy to have the photobug back, i havn't stopped this week!

Critique welcome and thank you immensley for the faves

Featured by @Xerces in this stunning article. Thank you, THANK YOU. It's really fucking weird seeing my photo amongst photos i have drooled over.

I was chuffed with this, only thing i disliked was the bloody patters. too thinck and unrealistic.

i hope you don't mind but i suggested something else of mine to be submitted to BC, because the one you requested was full street, not a concept in sight

I really love this. I don't know how in the hell I have not seen this one before. Good god, I have been gone for such a while and I have missed so many things here.

This is a very cool concept. It certainly has a factor of creepiness to it which I adore...and the B & W just sets it off perfectly!

You do excellent work sugar. Your ideas are fantastic

OH MY GOD! How did this one get past me?! This is fucking awesome! The concept totally freaks me out, which I love.

A couple of months back, an old woman's body was found in a flat in town and she'd been dead for ages. The creepy thing is, the tenements here aren't exactly well insulated for smell. I know when my next door neighbour is making curry. How on earth could a dead body go weeks with no-one smelling it?!

Also, there's just something innately saddening about a gigantic pile of mail, even when the context isn't as tragic as the one you've portrayed.

My brain has now become trapped in a memory-loop of a specific episode of Malcolm in the Middle where an elderly relative or neighbour died and 'kitties ate her face'. I'm going to be thinking 'kitties ate her face' all night now!

Your excited response humbles me darlin'.

For some reason after making it i had an awfully distasteful Life of Brian flash of the plague victim cart coming down my street accompanied by calls of 'Bring out your dead!' Maybe it's an uber-bad case of H1N1.

But my favourite fantasy is the OTHER infection... that she's not really dead but giving the virus time to take hold. And then,..*cue living-dead body leaping up and high pitched screeches of rage*

Bliss.

Thanks muchly for the bangin' comment bub, really glad ya like

Awesome job with this. I love your attention to detail with the mail as well as the angle and aspect from the rather bloody hand! i think the only way it could be more perfect is with a couple of flies in there, but they're hardly the sort of things to can get in rent-a-crowd form! Fantastic job with this- especially in black and white

I'm all conflicted about this one. I love the letters and the carpet pattern and the lighting and the Snow White-esque hand (really, really love), but I thought at first that she was in front of a door and the mail man had been dropping her mail through the mail slot all this time and hadn't noticed she was dead and no one else had found her, which would be poignant and lovely as a concept. But then I saw it was just a window. But then I realized that the lovely lighting and bright background would be ruined if it was a door and not a window. And now I'm all conflicted. And I blame you!

xD oh dear. You've gotten yourself all twisted up for nothing. You hit directly the first time. This is my hallway and that is my front door! I do love my house, it has an awesome layout for light, the windows are all in the perfect places. Anyway, have you ever seen a window at carpet level? x thanks for the gorgeous comment darling

TTBranwen In reply to TazzyDee [2009-06-24 03:51:49 +0000 UTC]

I HAVE seen windows at ground level. They're weird but in existence. So there.

But I'm glad I did the right interpretation anyway. Makes me pleased.

I really like this! I think it's gorgeous...

...In a scary kind of way.

The picture quality is great, and I especially like the black and white. It adds to the horror in the picture, if that makes any sense.

I've got too many ideas about what could've happened. This shot really spawns questions - if that was your goal, then you've accomplished it beautifully.

Thank you for such great art.

And thank you for your utterly SUPERB comment. i'm truly honoured and so glad you saw more than just one conclusion. Death scenes are definitely something i plan to projectise more, perhaps for the next one i'll try and make it out of the house. (Note to self: food colouring DOES NOT come off carpet) xD And black and white certainly seems to add a totally different kind of atmosphere in horror, i agree

Thank you a hundred fold for your time and thoughts

Don't worry, take my hand... xD

Have you seen Final Destination? it's terrifying in a comedic way. there's this scene where Death comes to get the teacher and it goes through almost every possible way you could accidently kill yourself in the home! Genius.

this is quite serious actually (the message). it's a scary thought having a deadly accident when there's no one round to help. Specially in the case of the elderly

KneelingGlory In reply to TazzyDee [2009-06-22 09:27:20 +0000 UTC]

Final Destination is one of my all time favorite movies Mostly because they go through all the ways you could die almost everytime someone dies. (And the kid in the bathtub with the creepy-crawly water? mad evil genius!)

And yes, it is quite serious. And sad That no one would check on you after a while.
