my only nitpick would be that i don't think the shadow should animate quite so much--it definitely doesn't need to disappear entirely, just a bit bigger and smaller since she's not moving nearly as much by comparison.

Not the only one who said that, nor the only one to agree with it~ I definitely should have treated the shadow better, but they're new grounds for me, and it was like 7AM and I was really really eager to get it done xD You're probably familiar with this scenario.

Floaty power up animations are always boss! Only quibble I can see is how the shadow under her disappears completely, rather than shrinking further. But I love how the shields appear!
* Not that I don't think that they ponies aren't well crafted, just that I've known you since before the ponies became a thing, and I'm always excited to see your other stuff.

I honestly did consider that when I was doing it. Her eyes and the lack of shadow on the top frame were two things I wished I'd gone back and repaired, but... it was like 7AM and I was riding the "almost done almost done almost done then I can upload it" flames. There is a possibility I might actually go fix it, though, because it really does look weird with no shadow whatsoever.
