I know, I know, I said January 22nd, but I felt so enthused with this project, I thought I'd put it up a month earlier. I may change the text on it for January 22nd though.Thanks for all your views guys, but I went for The Joker in the end. If I get time in the New Year though, I had another Ledger portrait in mind. But we'll see how that pans out.
I really gave myself a hard time with this one. Not one but 3 faces and not the easiest of angles either. The shading was an absolute nightmare as the white face paint is not even white on any of the photos. There's so many blues and purples and even greens in his complexion, I was layering Prismacolors for hours.
I wanted to create something quite special and personal to me so I didn't go off any internet images, instead I used my own. I took my time and listened to one of my favourite albums which kept me in good spirits despite my heavy heart.
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It's just such a shame Heath could not see this for real...

A very lovely tribute and some of the best Prismacolour work I've seen in a while. Heath will be missed and I am glad his effort was rewarded with an Oscar.

Well, I use my own screen captures to create my own pics to work from. I love getting them and drawing and manipulating them in my own wasy for a unique effect.

Oh, man. You've done such wonderful justice to his character. The shading and coloring on this is just phenomenal, especially the white makeup. I can only imagine how hard it was to properly blend all the different tones to make it look the way it was.
