Oh, don't worry. The joke is about "Javert" sounds like "Ja - bear" it's for that and for a comment that I have with a good friend that I did the drawing of Javert as a bear, specially like a carebear

You know, I'm surprised you're still alive after giving him a heart for a nose XD
Maybe the blue alleviates his pain a little. I guess it's a little ironic I consider blue the absolute defining colour of the character when he's in blacks mostly for the most iconic number (I love the three stars on his tummy, it's a clever reference, incidentally), but then it is... FITTING. He is such a doleful character after all.
I'm guessing this is a teddy you should keep from water? o.o

First, I though in give him another color like gray or black but I didn't remember if care-bears use dark colors. Finally I give him a color blue only to continue with the care-bears tradition ^^'
I know, I know, to put him a heart in his nose It's like to want an eternity in Toulon but all care-bears have it! O_o

The idea was to imagine and draw what would the inspector Javert as care-bear after some comments between a good friend and me ^^'

I have those conversations with a friend every once in a while. Once it ended up with our idea that the plot in Search for Spock was really about Spock trying to communicate he'd left his toaster oven on and then his house on Vulcan burned down...
In short, we can thank IM'ing and conversations for many good things, but ye gods, sometimes odd things happen.
I really like the design here, though. Might be for the better the nightstick isn't there. Every time I draw it, I always seem to end up making it flaming (I have a feeling Ja-bear might catch fire if that happened...) and it might be infectious.
