These three magpies were drawn and then printed onto matt lazer film ready to silk screen onto board.It was for Uni. We all had to illustrate something about Bristol, so I chose Chavs. Magpies like and collect shiny objects similar to Chavs wearing their cheap gold jewellery. I will post a photo of the finished piece just as soon as I can get a decent photo of it.

Cut it out???? Oh no no no.
At Uni we use laser film by 'Delta'. It's shiny on one side and matt on the other. You can ofcourse use wax-resist if you want that hand-drawn look, alternatively we use this film when printing off Mac or PC.

Yeah UWE, I'm based at the Bower Ashton campus and at the Arnolfini Studios in the City centre. I finished my first year (BA Illustration with Animation) last Tuesday.
It's a really good course, a bit disorganised this year because one of the best tutors left, we've felt a bit unimportant. The projects and workshops are wicked though. If you do go, and I hope you do, be prepared for the unexpected. That is, that you will do creative work that you've potentially never (and I mean never) done before. Leave your comfort blanket at home in other words!!
I'm only there so I can major in Animation. I want to do an Animation short course afterwards, probably in CGI, and then an MA in Animation.
In other words, John Lasseter: U'd better watch out, cause I'm gunna be knocking on your door one day soon!
