Each passing minute saw the sky growing darker, angrier and the heavy clouds forming overhead reflected in Hugo's stormy eyes. Tabbitha Anderson was a stubborn woman, but surely she knew well enough to not get stuck out in the middle of a summer squall... right? Letting out a frustrated sigh, he tried to ignore the niggling doubt worming it's way into his chest. Worry wouldn't bring her back any faster. He knew she needed the time to clear her head. Ever since she'd brought the little grey mare into her life, the nightmares had begun to come more frequently again. She'd said it would help, would be good for her, but that same doubt that kept Hugo's gaze on the horizon made him wonder if she'd made the right choice...

8 weeks earlier...

"You really sure about this?"
"Yeah, I am. Cavan had a lot of good things to say about the breed and honestly... I think this is what I need, Hugo. I've been in touch with Damon and we had a long talk about what I'm looking for and why, and he thinks they've got a mare that would be a good fit. Of course they want me to fly up and see her in person, but I won't be gone long."
"I don't get it, I don't get anything that has to do with those damn soul suckers, but... it's been five years. If you think this will help you finally move past December, then you do what you need to do."
"Thank you," Tabby sighed, a little of the weight lifted from her shoulders. Leaning in, she placed a gentle kiss on Hugo's cheek. "I know you don't understand, but I appreciate the support."
"Yeah... So, if you get her, what's her name going to be?"

"January."

So, those familiar with Tabby and her story know that her last few years have been a bit rough. Try as she has, there hasn't been a horse she's been able to connect with the way she feels she needs to since the passing of December. Not even Kanya has bridged the emptiness left behind by the Dusana. After seeing Cavan's Obertauers and learning about their loyalty to a singular person, she reaches out to see if she can get her own. She's offered a little silver grey mare, who immediately reminds her of December and Tabby feels she's finally found the horse she needs to move on.

But once she brings home the grey, the nightmare's return, and Tabby begins to wonder if she'll ever be able to find peace with herself.
