Meet Turtle

This is actually a miniature sized variation of a much bigger sketch I did today. I originally coloured it in pencils (an entirely different colour) but I wanted to play with it a bit in PS, too. I just kind of let my pencil carry me, so the result didn't look like any of the Lakewood ponies.

But then, I realised it did. Only it's not a pony you've ever seen.

Over a year ago xAcorn did some designs for me - Native Pony Adopts - PEN: - for Lakewood's Pony Box project (which only semi took off before I lost all my free time). Anyway, this was the design I picked.

So, Acorn - sorry it took so long, but here he is (and I actually drew up his reference picture back when I bought him, it just never got posted).

This little guy is called Turtle.

He's a stallion. A bit of an unknown breed - a mix of them, in all likelihood. Possibly has some Caspian in there, because of his delicate head but he has wonderfully fluffy feet. He's 12.3hh (pretty small) and officially a Smoky Black Pearl.

So yep; this guy exists somewhere unofficially as of right now, but I have a soft spot for him, so he ended up being doodled today Part of the reason for uploading this version, as well as the original, traditional image is because I really like the lighting in this. Gotta love backlight
