what thickness foam did you use? im trying to get some and it would be nice to know the thickness so i dont end up buying too thick or too thin

Ok Stupid questions. One what is EVA foam? And where do you get it?

tehnitekiat In reply to loveless62800 [2015-03-30 07:35:07 +0000 UTC]
eva foam is the foam that is used in gyms to cover up the floor. You can either get it online or go to a home depot/lowes and you can get some there. just look up gym floor foam.

Do the pointed pieces move back and forth?
π: 0 β©: 1
loveless62800 In reply to 19jburner [2015-03-02 03:31:40 +0000 UTC]
If they don't and you want them to.. you can always a an intended piece on the inner side of the pointed part closer to the end and then on the main peice that holds the shotgun shell you can add a intended part to it above it and and add a spring closer to the end

You did really well making the gauntlets look weathered, like Yang has been using them a lot recently. Awesome Job!!

I have an idea of how I can make a functioning version of a shot gauntlet. it involves a kinetic firing pin and a rack and pinion for the cylinder rotation.

that sounds like a very complex solution, do let me know how it works out

bilbo212 [2014-03-05 00:14:44 +0000 UTC]
again, overcritical, but i would have made the front section, under the barrel, on a hinge and a leather or fabric strip to attach to the knuckles.

excellent work! I would have done a metallic paintjob or added metal flake

Thank you so much for posting how you made these. I'll be cosplaying Yang in May and I wanted to make her gauntlets, but I hadΒ no idea where to even begin. Now I don't feel so lost, thank you so much!

Hello again! I'm currently in the process of building this prop based off of your blueprints and I had a question if you don't mind? For the outermost cover of Ember Celica, how did you attach those to the rest of the prop? I noticed in some pictures they'd be attached and others they wouldn't be and it didn't seem like you used super glue to attach them? Thanks for your help!

Β I'm building this off your kit blueprints, but I'm mixing it up a little. Instead of using the bicycle pump, I'm using PVC piping and foam strips around the base for the shells. I use 1 Inch OD thick pipe, and I half it so the shell fits. It looks pretty nice. (Shells are based off the mythical "1 gauge shell")

It's really messy to cut, but I prefer it. I'm not exactly building it to code, as I have bulkier arms so I decided why not have heavy-duty shells to match the larger gauntlets?

Eventually. I shoot shotguns regularly so I like to play a mental game to see if I know the size of the shell or bullet.
