Description Mewtwo does not approve.
Does. NOT. APPROVE.

I am seriously hoping this is a completely new pokemon and not at all a new form of Mewtwo. Though the title of the movie "Mewtwo's Awakening" does cause me worry. e_e

You just don't tamper with mewtwo. You just...you just...DON'T.

I will get up and dance if this is a new clone. After all, pokemon X and Y are like chromosones, so it would make sense if it had something to do with genetics. But...I'm just hoping they don't TOUCH the REAL mewtwo with this.

It would make a lot of sense.

we've also got to consider that the comment at the end of the trailer said that we had yet to see the "real Mewtwo"

Uuuugh 'real' mewtwo my ass. Why can't they just leave him alone. ;;

Because perhaps they want to continue Mewtwo's story? Perhaps they want to expand on him and evolve the development centering around him? Going by the Japanese logos for X and Y with the double helix embedded into them, it's easy to think that Gen VI's main theme might be genetics.

Mewtwo is pretty much one of the biggest aspects of genetics in Pokemon, and so it's reasonable to assume that this is a good moment to explore more about him. Could they have done so without a new form? Perhaps, but it also provides an opportunity.

Opportunity, sure, but that doesn't mean we have to like it.
I for one am always going to stand by having Mewtwo as is.

There was plenty of other ways to develop his story, but now every single freakin legendary is becoming a 'magical girl with shiny transformations'.

I suppose. I'll still be furious if they end up changing Mewtwo, but if they don't...I'll draw an apologetic picture. =u=

What game did you start off playing? Did you start with the original Red, Blue, Green and Yellow? Did you see the first movie when it came out?

To some of us this is an insane insult. Mewtwo is supposed to be just a clone, and the ultimate pokemon. He is supposed to be the most powerful. Period. This...'new mewtwo' better just be a 'new clone' and not an 'improved form', because for great fans of this pokemon changing it just for the sake of a new spin is gag worthy.

Just straight up don't touch this pokemon and try to 'make him better' by grabbing his tail and putting it on his head.

I grew up playing Red/Blue. I started watching the anime when it first aired in the US. I saw the first movie. I have been a fan of Pokemon since those days. Don't assume that everybody who has been around since the beginning is going to find a problem with something like this.

The problem here is that you and various others are being so adamant against even a little bit of change. Nothing wrong at all is going on, and it's the franchise expanding on its own property.

The 'Great fans' are honestly going to have to deal with it. Cool your jets, wait for official reasoning as to WHY this happened, and move on with it.

You really can't tell the creators what they can or can't do with their own Pokemon.

And you really can't tell die-hard fans how to feel. Everybody gets to express how they feel about this 'new thing', not everybody has to like it.

I never said that you are 'not a true fan if you like this thing', I'm just sayin you probably don't like Mewtwo as the rest of the die-hard's do. No need to go jumping on so many comments on my submission hahaha.

I have loved everything pokemon has put out so far. But this? Nope. Not guna change my feels on it. So don't loop me in with those "hurdurr only recognizing the first 151".

Mewtwo is one of my Favorite pokemon. and was the one I loved most out of the first Generation, and I have no problems with this new pokemon, even if it did turn out to be a new form or evolution 8U just sayin.

I understand that. But thats no reason to get so angry at something that was just announced is all Im saying XD we dont know anything at all yet about it. Im sure Game Freak knows what there doing. Even if this new pokemon IS a form of mewtwo, Im sure they will have a decent explanation for it.

Never said you were going 'not a true fan if you like this thing', but perhaps I came off that way. I also never lumped you in with the 'only reconizing the first 151 crowd'.

And sorry about jumping on all the comments. The fandom itself has been cheesing me the hell off, and this whole Mewtwo thing has become the breaking point. It's gotten to a point where I wish I could just go on some hiatus away from the fandom. However, that's impossible because I like to read up on the latest leaks and info and such.

Again, sorry about jumping down your throat. It's me being irrational against what I perceive to be irrationality. =_=

Naw, man, its cool. xD I know a lot of people take some pokemon news incredibly seriously. This pic for me was mainly just to let off my own steam, as well as make a parody out of something. XD I don't legitally want this thing to die hahaha.

You probably should take a step back from the fandom, or at least avoid forums. I don't take what most people say seriously.

I grew up playing the old games. played every game that came out, seen every movie. Yes I played the original. and I think theres nothing wrong with this new pokemon. The more I look at it the more it grows on me. Honestly I think everyone needs to just Chill until more info is released on this guy...all we know is it looks like mewtwo a lil bit. they didnt mention its name...or type...or if its a form of mewtwo. Hell they even said it was a "new pokemon"

Tartii In reply to Windigo-go [2013-04-07 21:37:23 +0000 UTC]

What has me so strung-up is not the fact that this is a new pokemon, but the fact they might be /changing/ mewtwo. Is it kind of cute? Sure, I won't deny that. I enjoyed drawing him/her.

If it ends up being a 'mewthree' I certainly won't mind. But because there is a very high chance this is some new 'all-powerful mewtwo form' or some weird crap THAT is what I think has everybody pissed to high heaven.

xDarkAngerx In reply to ??? [2013-04-07 04:11:30 +0000 UTC]

I agree. You don't change Mewtwo...it's just so...wrong. While I don't mind it as an individual, it pails in comparison to the awesomeness that is Mewtwo. I'm hoping that it'll have a relation similar to Mew and Mewtwo, or Manaphy and Phione, in that while they're clearly related, they're still individual pokemon.

Precisely. I could tolerate that.

NickOnPlanetRipple [2013-04-07 03:57:24 +0000 UTC]

I think what they're going for is to make it look like a higher state of being, something downright divine that makes even Mewtwo look like a primitive animal in comparison. I mean, it's like seeing aliens with massive brains but frail little bodies. I honestly don't like the new form much, but I think it's interesting that they took such a minimalist approach, what with most of today's pokemon having weird lines an' whatnot all over them.

HES FINE THE WAY HE IS. HES DNA HE CANT EVOLVE SO WHY.

My that was quick, I'm thinking it was a clone of MewTwo. Hopefully they either fight or fuse together to make a much more badass pokemon.

Fuse together no. The both of them fighting and Mewtwo curb-stomping this thing? Yes.
