I love them! You really do look like Hook! I've always wondered about those contacts. I have hazel eyes, so when I put the Acuvue ocean blue contacts in, I look possessed. I agree, I always thought it was actually a neat look.

My eyes are like a light brown, but if I get coloured lenses that aren't printed right, it just makes my eyes look darker. I had one pair that made my eyes look REALLY dark blue (really black with a hint of blue), but when photographed with flash it made my eyes look like a natural blue, but aside from that they were kinda pointless. I needed something that looked good in person too. These still look dark, but in person you can still see that they're definitely blue. I wish they would should the ACTUAL lens with the product, because some lenses are transparently printed or use like a grid pattern, and they work for enhancing the colour you already have. To change them you want a solid print. They never say how they're printed and they don't show you what the lens looks like so it's always a gamble. Because there's so much print on them i actually can feel them in my eyes, like they feel heavier than past lenses I've worn, but since I only wear them for short periods of time it doesn't bother me. I'm just more aware of my eyes, haha. I got these lenses at a site called PainfulPleasures.com. I think they were like, $20 or $25, they weren't too bad.

WOW! Piercing! I see what you mean, the pattern looks a bit funny, but other than that, looks good!

The way the lenses are printed they have this lace pattern to them, so they don't look realistic at all, but they look really cool! My old lenses were the perfect colour, they even blended well with my brown eyes so it looked like I had blue eyes with a brown inner ring. But they wore out and I had to get rid of them, only problem because I got them 2 years ago i don't remember what brand they were. I've been experimenting with different brands and though this is a darker shade of blue than what I wanted, they do photograph really nicely. They have I think like a 6 month lifespan and by then I'll have new ones, but for now I'll get my use out of them.

They kinda remind me of some of the eyes you'd see on a doll or something...(and I mean that in the best way.) I've been trying to experiment with contacts too, only problem is, their lifespan doesn't really make up for their price.....especially the black sclera ones I wanted for my Jack. I also wanted some pale blue ones but they seemed a bit off to see them in action.

The lenses I used to have, the light blue ones, THEY looked scary, because they were really bright. One faire I went to there was a woman who was so fascinated with them, she must have taken like, 10 pictures (at least), of all close up shots just for my eyes.
Those sclera lenses are cool, but you gotta find the right ones. This is where I get my lenses from, they ship from England. Most US stores require you to have a prescription, even if they're just for cosmetic/ costume use. These lenses are also a LOT cheaper too. I got mine for like, $18 and I've seen the same ones in the store for $40, and they're the same exact brand.

In their pages they'll say how long the lenses last (month, 6 months, 1 year etc.) this is if you were to wear them everyday. But if you're just using them for costume use they'll last longer. Those light blue lenses I had lasted me a little over 2 years and the only reason I had to get rid of them was because there was a piece of fuzz or something behind the lens and it scratched my cornea and when I took it out, I had no place to put it (I was at a faire at the time). If you take care of them they can last for quite a while. I've never used the sclera lenses, but one of my friends has them and he says they're annoying to get in and out if you're not used it. This site does have solid black lenses that are the size of normal contacts that could work pretty well. I think that'd look cool too to just had a white ring around your eyes or something instead of JUST the solid black eyes.
If you're going for blue ones make sure they say they're suitable for dark eyes. One brand I bought (Blend of Color) they're only for lighter eyes and so when I wear them you can't even tell that I'm wearing blue lenses.
