Isn't it? I'd seen other pictures of it before I went there, but it did nothing to compare to the sight when I actually walked in there for the first time. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was.Β

haha You'd have to fly all the way out to America to do it. But I'd say you have far better chances of finding way cool places to urbex over there in your country.Β

I find it to be beautiful even in this decrepit state. It was build in 1926 for the wealthy, and has been closed since the 70's. I would have loved to see it in all its glory too. But, there is a current effort underway to renovate it.

Yes, you're right. And that is especially true where I live, here in the US. But, it does provide opportunity for me as an urbexer. (Urban explorer.) ^_^

Indeed. This was once a hotel for the rich, but its been abandoned since the 70's. But even in this state I believe its very beautiful. Just in a different way than it once was.Β
As for the lighting; on the opposite wall of those arches are where the front doors of the building are. They're now boarded up, but above each set of doors was a window, through which the daylight still filtered in. Soon I'll be posting another photo of this room from a very slightly different angle that will allow you to see those doors and windows on the other wall.Β
