Haha, this reminded me of those creepy guys right away. Freaked me out when I was a kid, but now it's the funniest part of the movie. (:

This is awesome!

Do you mind telling me where you get your wool for felting? My mom wants to start, but she cant find a reasonably priced source.

Thank. Well I buy my wool raw locally and in massive quantities. If she is learning she won't want 10 pounds of wool she'll have to clean. When I first started I bought merino on EBay. What size will she be making and what? Will she dye her own? I dye every color myself. Also, my creatures are toddler size for the most part...Maybe let me know what her plans are and I can send some link...

No problem~
Ah, I'll check that on Ebay. I'm not exactly sure what she wants to do, but she's done the basics. I'll have to ask her what exactly she wants. Thank you for your trouble.

Hi... I'm poiikil's mom. I'm really just starting this. I went to a Anime Con and they had a felting demo and tried it out there. I've been wanting to do it ever since. I probably won't go as large as you till I get the hang of it. I like the idea of dying the wool myself. I'll take a look on Ebay. There are a few stores around here that sell it but it seems they are colors I don't really want to use and seems really expensive for such a little amount.

Your creatures are incredible! I love your gallery!!!!

Neat they were showing how to felt at an Anime con. Was the instructor any good? I use kool aid and Icing dye with my creatures. Acid dye for a few colors. Acid dye gives me a horrid head ache even with a mask, so I try to keep to those other dyes. Easter is almost upon us and I like to dye with those egg dye tablets too. Starting small might be good. I felt for over 60 hours on my large creatures. What kind of things will you make? You can check out Living Felt online they have some wool too. I started off with Merino, but it is finer to felt, but super soft.

Good luck!

wow. just-just wow. Can you describe how you create these? What materials do you use (I dont know much about felting, I would probably crochet this and then put it in washing machine although it probably wouldn't turn out as beautiful as your work). Thank you for reply!

Hi! Thanks...I take about 5 pounds of natural wool. Dye it with three pots of Black Icing dye and then I spend 60 hours or so poking the entire thing from start to finish with a single barbed needle. Then I spend even more time adding hair inch by inch. lol...Does not sound that glamorous I know.

375.00 40" long by 40" tall legs extended since they are jointed. But I guess I could try a smaller one...
