That is just it, you don't want something completely original. You want something that suggests something familiar to the audience, but in an original way. Look at Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. Hell, the Jedi are sword fighting knights.

Have you seen the extra coverage on the Lord of the Rings dvd's? They go over a lot of the design process. Harry potter does some too. I think you would do very well at it.
Victorian style is being pushed by the steampunk movement. It's everywhere now. I like it too.

All movies are individual projects. They start as an idea from a scriptwriter or producer. He talks to someone else, like a potential actor. Once a script is done, the executive producer starts getting investors. He also shops the script for actors. Usually it's people the producer or the other actors already know; who knows someone else, etc. Once all that is done, they have a budget and start filling out the rest of the crew. Once the movie is done filming, everyone goes their separate ways except for the lead actors who do the media interview circuit to promote the film, while it is being edited. In other words, you are out of a job. The best way to get contacts is to be in Hollywood. You simply contact every living person (in the industry) with your portfolio and ask "what do you need and want." I'll give you a little "secret." That phrase is from the first step of the condition formula that you do when you "don't exist." And to Hollywood, you don't exist, do you? It is a well known phrase in Hollywood since "half" the people that work their are Scientologists. (That condition formula is part of the conditions technology in Scientology.) The only other way I know to get contacts is to start a course at Celebrity Centre International. They have lots of professional workshops on getting started in the business. They have a worldwide network of Celebrity Centers but not in Hungary. Does Hungary have a movie industry? I would think so. Go to the studios. Talk to Gaffers, Best Boys, the "crew" to find out who to get in contact with. You can find them at the local favorite restaurant. There might be unions too that could help. It really is a small world. You just have to introduce yourself to the people in it. Hope that helps.

Hm, ment for the idea of generally be more known Not precisely with the film industry ^^ As far as I know, as you mentioned too, the industry is quite closed. Only if you know someboy, can you access it. Othervise its quite close to zero. People like to work with others they know. Or one of his friends know. Its a tightly knit society in my opinion A bit strange tho, that even if you are talented, if you dont know somebody, you have a pretty hard time on your hands to get into it xD
I do have a "friend" at one of the studios in Hungary (Korda Studio) and I've got promised that I could join an animation film in summer, but I'll be sure only when I'm sitting at my desk there xD
So, aside of the film industry, more on a general note, do you have any hints or ideas how to make myself more known ? I've tried a few ideas, but so far, none seems to work out that well X) Only a handful of people know my existance (I always had problems with managing myself in this part...)

Well, yeah, it is not so much a private club as it is the fact that choosing the wrong team ends careers and millions of dollars, so they really need to have personal experience with someone they've worked with in the past. You just have to start small, where mistakes are not catastrophic. Small budget films, or new games. The point being, you need to do the job, even if on a small scale to show people you are reliable. Good luck on that "promised" job. It would definitely be a "foot in the door." "Breaking into the business" has always been difficult so don't feel bad about failing to make yourself known. I do think that conditions technology would help. It certainly helps everyone I know. Even though there is no Celeb. Center in Hungary you could take the basic course online. It's free and would give you the basics of getting yourself out of any unwanted condition into a better one, (being well known, for instance). Back to the "doing the job" comment, did you know that Stephen Speilburg was making movies long before he was "known?" The movie "Super 8" is a little autobiographical as that is how he started; with a little super 8 camera as a kid.
