Description This photo was taken just after the one entitled 'Henry and Guinea Pigs'. The tri-colour has had her babies and she and her cage companion take turns at caring for them.

Unlike other rodents, mini-pigs are born with all their fur, their eyes open, and able to run around and even eat solid food. They're nursed by their mothers for about 4-6 weeks and then they're ready to make their own way in the world.

Guinea pigs are much more interesting than rabbits and make great pets for any age group.

Aww they're so cute! The mother (is that their mother?) is a beautiful looking guinea pig. The little white and grey one looks like my baby pig, River!

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply - not been around for a bit - lack of time and then my router blew up

The tricolour was their mother but we lost them all to an epidemic of some sort about 6 weeks after that photo was taken. We've no idea what the infection was, but it hit hard and fast and we lost all but one of our piggies

When that photo was taken the babies were less than 24 hours old. I don't know if you've read any of the other messages but we were hit with an outbreak of some sort of infection about 6 weeks later and we lost all but one of our piggies, including the babies It hit so fast there was nothing anyone, even the vet, could do. The only surviving piggie died of old age last year and I was without any for a few months, but I have a couple of boys now and hope to get them a couple of nice girlfriends

I love minipigs - they're too cute for words. I was hoping to begin breeding again but my husband managed to buy 2 males instead of a male and a female He offered to take one of them back but I wouldn't allow it. Once a pet's in my home, it's there for good

oh yeah, I understand how difficult it would be to give it back, it's so easy to get attatched to them X3 this reminds me of the time I accidently got my friend a pregnant guinea pig... oops, but the minipigs were SOOO cute I wanted them all

those are the adults and babies I lost in the epidemic

However, I still have one of the sons from a previous litter (No 3), so maybe if I can get a suitable female, I can continue the line.
