RITE OF FERTILITY- Failed Attempt
(Yes... I shed a tear inside. This be... so very sad....)
She'd... thought... she was ready. But no... no, she wasn't, not yet. One dud egg,
one egg that started.... but... died halfway through the incubation, and one that
hatched, but.... only... barely. The little one.... didn't last but an hour. If that.
Essie..... was lost in the pain, as was her rider. But... they would get through this.
They would learn from their mistakes, and... they would be all the wiser for it.
At least.... Es'Aar knew now, not to fall for the good looks of an unknown, and
wild no less, dracomyr.
It would be some time before her heart would heal, but..... time all wounds heals,
and this case would be no different.

(A note on the ankyl (admins correct me if I'm wrong, please X3); I had the mental image of the spines on the
side shifting their position to closer to the spine when the wings re-materialized.... having the side-spines on
the sides, under the wings, would be rather painful, as the sharp horns would end up puncturing or scratching
the membrane of the wings at some point.... especially in the down-stroke while flying. X3 )
