I was at this idyllic village when I spotted this gentleman sleeping on a bench under the tree. I sneaked up to about 3 feet away to have this shot taken.Had this gentleman gotten up, he would have used all the foul expletives known to man and the animal kingdom on me because according to the old Chinese superstition, a picture taken while asleep is liken to stealing the soul of that person. I, however, do not believe in such superstition…it is an old school of thought.
I have not had an afternoon nap for ages; I envy him, and heck I hadn’t had a good four hours sleep for weeks….I am like a Zombie by the day.
I will never allowed my picture to be taken while I am asleep, much as I am not superstitious but why take chances…..the world was never fair.
…be right back after the commercial break….yawn!

LOL I love this photo and your statement, I have heard of that, Its ironically funny how you are not afraid of stealing his soul and can easily believe your not. But on the same token you are afraid someone will steals your if they snap a photo while you sleep. And go to bed and get a full night sleep

Reminds me of swim season where the team would sleep on the benches in the locker room when we had 20 minutes to spare before practice..fun stuff, I really like it, its peaceful and subtle at the same time, like a dream can be, dont know its reality till ya wake up

...wish you are here to enjoy the sunbathing...me I have had too much sun....so much that I am overly tan.

Had that guy been awake, The whole village would have come after me with sticks and machetes....which reminded me of an incident many years ago in a slum somewhere in south-east-Asia....got slash on the stomach...manage to get out alive....harrowing experience.

Don't worry about me I sleep as much as I can. I hate waking up t 5:30 for the bus but I usually go to sleep around 9:30 so that's still 8 hours. We had the day off today and I slept until 10.

Superstitions are sometimes crippling...I honestly do not believe in any of these at all but sometime I tell myself why take chances and garnered this negative feelings.

I once went to a Chinese restaurant in London........ Very popular and very busy.....and cheaper than others!
A tiny,Chinese waitress was fast asleep,on two chairs, at the table we were supposed to be sitting at.
The poor girl was so worn out that even a sharp prod from her employer didn't wake her!........I felt so sorry for her!...
As there were no other tables available, afew more ,even sharper prods later,we were able to sit down!.....

I had it up on the journal entry to explain why I was having trouble sleeping...Trish...and I look forward to some wise words from you....and about the dream..really amazing though I didn't get to look at Wendy but I knew it was you...you were giggling like a child always next to Peter Pan.
The poor girl is working her butts off having to repay the loan that her husband took from the loan shark to gamble....who is jobless and to feed their children....as always the case...pitiful.
Man is the main cause of most family problems.....so SAD...I was one of them back then when I lost everything in the stock market...I have repented.
