Description
I have Emerald City Comicon coming up soon and really want to get some new stuff done for it. I'm also trying to up my game and do more real backgrounds and whatnot.Hmmm, so what would be a good background when a hard deadline is a real thing? I know! Bamboo would TOTALLY be a good idea!
GUYS. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA. This was not a good idea at all. This is almost book+microwave level of bad.
As a general rule I love bad decisions. This was not one of those times.

Momohime is from Muramasa - the Demon Blade. I totally recommend it. It's gorgeous and fun!

I spent a lot of time going over this one trying to figure out what it was about it that just seemed a little bit off to me. At first I thought it was the legs but actually I quickly realized they're very well done. I think you kept them remarkably accurate considering the intensity and difficulty of the pose. What I finally came up with are two things. First, the fabric of her outfit as it comes off the arm holding the sword is too flat and lifeless, especially at the bottom. It looks a bit as I would expect a plastic model to appear.
The other problem are the two armor shoulder plates. The one on the left shoulder doesn't appear to be attached to anything. There's a screw, but it looks like it's inserted right into her shoulder. The other armor plate appears to thrust out too far behind her, rather than riding up her arm.
Otherwise, this is really good. The bamboo is absolutely amazing, and for such a difficult attempt at a pose you pull it off fantastically.

I honestly have no idea who Momohime is but I love the color on this! You shade and highlight so perfectly. And the bamboo is just beautiful.

What I am doing sitting in front of the computer when this game still hasn't been beaten o_o?... Always happy to see a Momo. The color choices are vivid and well matched, as I look at the figurine sitting on the shelf to my right :b.

Really, this is the same level of book+microwave bad. Either way, it turned out looking fantastic and it has a nice lighting in the back ^_^
