*GASP!* YAAAAAAY!
I know you are talking about their characters, and you are correct. But also, in real life, Chico was truly the glue holding them together. If it wasn't for Chico's penchant for sniffing out money and local gambling rackets in every town he's ever been in, they would've never got a film deal in Hollywood, they would've stayed in the small-time theaters, which would mean that we wouldn't know who they are, and would lead to a domino effect of all the cartoons based on them like Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, and of course Animaniacs being less funny or nonexistent. Heck, if you go back one step further, if it wasn't for Chico winding up on the piano that night in the orchestra pit, they probably would've still been singing as the serious songs as the Nightingales and never became the rambunctious kids in "Fun In Hi Skule." So we owe Chico a great deal of respect. Him, and of course, Minnie.
Yeah, Zep was as funny as Groucho, he even took over for him at theaters sometimes and looked like him with greasepaint on. But it made no sense to have two Grouchos, so he got stuck with the "love interest" role in films. That dude was BUILT though, the guy worked out and was usually their muscle if a theater-owner refused to pay them. I wish we were able to see Zeppo's potential, but he just couldnt find a character that could out-do his brothers dominating personalities.
Gummo.. LOL He never liked being a Nightingale, so when his Bros went to Hollywood, they created a fake agency that all of them worked at, including Gummo. After the biz failed, he became a dress-maker, which would be the unsung part of their family history, since their father Frenchie was also a tailor.
Anyway, I could go on and on, spouting trivia like Groucho gabbing on a good day, but I'll spare ya. LOL I love the fact that you've discovered them just like I did, though Animaniacs. Harpo's my fave, but you wouldn't know it by how much I'm typing about Chico.. 9_9
Your drawings of them are lovely. I like their eyes, so expressive! You draw them well. I've happened to miss the unedited version of this, so i'm not sure what happened. Most people seem to fail at capturing Chico, but you did a great job at capturing that stare of his.

I'm wanting to draw Groucho when he was a kid [maybe all of them] but I can't figure out what I want to draw. I was wanting to draw him tormenting his older cousin that lived with him [I forget her name, but someone said she was like his prototype for Margret Dumont's characters]. I can't decide what he should be doing...

Aww gee, how could I tell Groucho was your favorite? *Points to your avatar* XD
Yeah Chico I actually made a bit too realistic, I was going to try for a cross between realistic and anime or something, Harpo was the only successful one in that attempt.
You're right! Chico regularly scammed Groucho, or confused him to death at least. Which is shocking considering Groucho's character seemed so much sharper minded than Chico.
