Okay, the story behind this one simply MUST be told.

I once worked at Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart, I (unfortunately) met a cart pusher named Timmy. Timmy was the epitome of creepy. Timmy was also a rabid Bleach fan. I made the mistake of wearing my Kenpachi shirt in front of him. Timmy started talking to me. I made the mistake of talking back. Timmy offered to draw a picture of Kenpachi for me. I declined, and made yet another mistake by telling him I could draw him just fine on my own.

Ladies and gentlemen, it was now on.

Timmy challenged me, asked me how many sketch books I'd filled, how long I'd been drawing, and exaggerated his own record in response to my answers. The next day, Timmy brought in one of his sketch books. I died a little inside... Page after page of badly copied pictures lay before me, causing me to cringe every time I flipped the page. I, in turn, showed him my work. Needless to say, I disturbed the fuck out of him. A small victory on my part.

Then came the day he started his little 'project'. He would draw each of the characters in Bleach with the car he thought most appropriate. Needless to say, both the cars and accompanying mug shot of the characters were blatantly copied, and horribly so, I might add. Then, he asked me, knowing the kind of rabid Kenpachi fanboy I am, "What kind of car do you think Kenpachi would drive?" "He wouldn't," I replied. "He would ride a motorcycle, of course." Thus Timmy began to draw what he called a 'motorcycle'. The next day, a coworker and good friend of mine approached me and said Timmy had come and shown him a rather ugly drawing of Kenpachi and a shapeless lump he thought may have been a motorcycle, bragging about how much better he was than I.

Oh HELL no...

The next morning, as I waited for my ride to work, I sat outside under the hot Texas sun and sketched my neighbors' motorcycle as reference. Alas, I had to change sides halfway through, so it's not entirely accurate. Still, I got what I needed.

Later that week, when Timmy approached me with that cocky grin on his face, I asked "So, I hear you have a picture to show me?" His grin widened as he flipped open his sketch book to reveal what he had done. Hideous though it was, I merely smiled. When he asked what I thought about it, I merely flipped open my sketch book. Timmy's smile disappeared instantly. He stared speechless at it for a while before admitting defeat (but not before he made every excuse under the sun as to why his wasn't "his best work"). Timmy never challenged me again.

So, here is that very picture as I showed dear Timmy that day. I haven't touched it since, having lost the silver marker I was using for the chrome, but you get the point. I'm a very proud creature, I'm ashamed to admit. I can't take challenges like that lying down.
