This desk is inspired by Pepijn desktop, one of the greatest desk modder. If you never seen his work, check his gallery.
Moreover, as there is no way to customize Leopard for the moment, I use geek tool & co to do the best shot. Hope you like it

pour les indicateurs c est une config dragthing. Tu crees des liens avec dragthing vers Finder, Firefox ... que tu places au niveau de l'endroit désiré et ensuite tu baisses la transparence de dragthing jusqu'à 0 %. La config est toujours active mais ne se voit plus.
Je sais si cela est très clair ... De plus, je crois que la version d'essai de Dragthing ne permet pas de jouer avec la transparence.

La couleur grise est dans l image, elle ne bouge pas en fonction de la position du curseur. Mais ca doit etre possible de le faire avec dragthing. Il faut y réflechir
Pour geektool, ce n est pas une commande terminal. Tu crees une image par ex le haut de ton wallpaper. Puis dans geektool, tu choisis image et surtout tu coches "haut de dessus" (désolé je ne suis pas sur Mac donc je suis limité au niveau détail).
Pour yahoo widget, il te faut télécharger un widget qui convertit celui que tu veux modifier en une archive zip. Je ne me souviens plus du nom mais ca doit etre quelque chose comme "Converter". Ensuite dans l'archive le fichier *.kon est lisible par n'importe quel éditeur de texte. Tu sauves le tout, crees ton widget avec le "Converter" puis le relance.

This is surely interesting. I really did not know GeekTools is so powerful! I have one big question:
How did you get rid of your Menubar in Leopard?
You really would help me a lot with that hint

I think the best way is to use Menufela app (I think you know it). Unfortunately, this app does'nt work yet with Leopard. But his creator tell me that he has a version which work and so he hopes it will release it in few weeks.
So I don't use it of course. I create an image with last fm header, 1680 px width, and then with Geek Tool you can show an image from web or from your disk and put it "always on top". So with this way you can hide the Leopard menubar. But I have to say that it is not really easy to work with this config even if, like me, you use a lot the shortcut link.
This is the only way up to now to custom a little bit Leopard.
One thing, Marius : sometimes ago I mod Gaia guikit to do a black version which you can see here [link] Some people ask me to release it but as it is just some adjustement from your original work, I don't want to do it. My probem, is that I sent it to few friends and they show it in their screen. If you disagree, I can delete my deviation and ask them to do it too.

o and ill cek out menufela, ut right now im using "non-transparent menu bar" it just adds a solid color ofver the menu bar, then when the cursor is over it, it fades out.

About your desk, you have a nice config and as I can see, you try GeekTool. The best way to hide the menubar must be the use of Menufela application. Unfortunately, it is not yet compatible with Leopard but the creator tell me that it will be in few days.
Then if you want to customize your dock, you have to use Candybar (I think you use it right ?). But to do something minimal try Dragthing especially if you want to do like me with Finder,Firefox shortcut. You create a wallpaper and then you put some dragthing link with 100% of transparence above them. Finally you can use deskshade to hide your desktop icons.

dock custimization wass done w/ resorce hacks, all exept the icons

Non c'est GeekTool qui permet de faire cela. Tu mets une image au-dessus de tout et voilà. Mais l'alternative qui me semble la plus "prometeuse" c'est Menufela. Hélas son créateur est en révision d'exam donc les serial tardent à parvenir et qui plus est, je ne sais pas si cette appli est compatible Leopard.
