Okay, the latest incarnation of the Inuyasha costume. This one I finished a while ago, but just shipped out yesterday ^_^; Luckily, I remembered to get a picture of it before.What is different? Wide black ribbon in the sleeves. More accurate to the newer seasons.
See, the problem is, they keep changing Inuyasha's costume. In the first season, he does not have white slits in the side, and the edging was a dark red, thin band. Now, he has slits in the side (which I still don't do, because it's a pain) and the banding has become very wide and black.
Go figure. Maybe the character designers got bored?

I have searched everywhere....... and I mean EVERYWHERE. To either find this costume or, a design in which i could make my own, but all attemps have failed miserably. This makes me wish I could some how get a hold of one......... -_-'

((shamless self plug)) I do take commissions ~ that's basically all I do while I"m going to school (for costume production), so depending on when you'd need it, I could probably whip out another one ^___^ I'd voulinteer to help direct you to making one yourself, but I drafted the pattern from scratch, so I don't think that would be much help...

Well, I drafted my own pattern for mine to get the sleeves how I like it, but what I would recommend you do is either find a kimono pattern - they're under "costumes" or if you don't need it ASAP, I can write out directions on making one off of your measurements ~ I'm giving a panel on it at a convention in a few months, so I have to come up with the flier and information anyways, so I definitely wouldn't mind getting you a copy. I'm thinking of submitting it to Deviant Art as a tutorial either way ^___^

Simple cotton/polyester. It's really flowie, which is what I love about using it. Plus, it doesn't wrinkle as easily ^_____^

Yeah, but they get horrible to make after a while. All of my sewing machines, and my ironing board, and my cutting table are tinted pink.... grrr...
But it does look really cool, and since the sleeves are *so* huge, it's fun to run around in ^_^

Kikyos outfit is super comfy just to wear around, I made one for my mom (with less dramatic sleeves) that she wears around randomly in the summer. ^_^
