It’s really unfortunate that some artwork just get ruined by negative comments, especially if there’s nothing wrong with the art itself. But submitting always runs the risk of getting those nasty comments. And yes I understand even I’m running the risk just posting this comment. So we should always prepare for the worst.

This is a complicated subject. When considering just criticism, then in fact you have all the right of the world in your words, seriously. But sometimes there is just mean people around there. also another point that i want to make is sometimes the person draws what they like, and then there cames by a person who dislikes what person 1 draws and just post rude comments, ruinning person 1 day, and sometimes even desmotivating ( did i write this right?) the person to keep doing what they like.
eww... sorry for my long comment.

For me, it is not so much me disagreeing with them as it is the person insisting their opinion is absolute fact. It is super annoying; even when I try to conclude the conversation, they keep at it. That sounds an awful lot like harassment to me, so the whole "Don't submit to a public site" is just a bullshit excuse to be a jerk and idiot in that sort of case.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! :'D
The sad truth is, most people only post their artwork in the hopes of getting their ego stroked.

I've left mostly calm but still generally negative comments before, only to get BAAAAAWlocked by the one that posted the work. It's especially funny when I point their logical fallacies and "points" they make that are either 1: intentionally misleading, 2: dead wrong, or 3: both.

Furthermore, it's a fucking art website. You're SUPPOSED to give your honest opinion about it, even if that's one that causes the artist to be butthurt

If someone posts a stamp/artwork saying an opinion, everyone else should have the right to say theirs too. How many times I have been blocked over anti-human crazy animal loving stamps/artwork for disagreeing..
But if it is a simple my little pony artwork and someone bullies them for liking ponies, then that is when I do not support freedom of speech, more like freedom of bullying.
