EDIT2: sorry again for the update again, I took my signature off (cause I don't know if that's against the rules?) and I fixed that corner up at the top, you could just barely see the line of the paper AND IT BOTHERED ME DX

(am I cheesy or what? )

I am so proud of this, you guys have absolutely no idea. I WANTED to be proud of this, to put so much detail in to it that everyone would just sit back and go 'wow...NICOLE did this?!'

I hope I succeeded...I know I like it Does everyone see the symbolism in there? Like the colors of the clothes? The birds and paper? The wings, and the rings?

When I saw the article that Wacom was having another art contest, I really wanted to enter. I didn't enter the last one they had, mainly because of time constraints, but...mostly because I knew I didn't stand a chance. Those who did won certainly deserved it!

But this time I don't care if I win or not, I LOVE the theme they chose. That's the whole thing about it, it inspired me!

I've been in a art block for almost 2 months now, and even though I post this and that, it's nothing I can see I've taken time to do. But after thinking about what my dreams are...inspiration hit me with a two-by-four

I thought, of course, of Jay. Unlike most people my age, I WANT to get married to him, and no one else. I know he'll make me happy, and I hope with all my heart that I'll do the same for him

I want to live with him, and get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Boston Terrier, with a little lawn and picket fence. Not a big house, but a happy one! I want to get married, in autumn, where all the colors are singing and the leaves are dancing

And I want to fly with him. I'm not strong enough to do it by myself, and some might consider me weak for not being able to, but you know what? I think it takes an even stronger person to take that jump of trust and hang on. Trust can be a really big thing, you know?

This part might be a little selfish, but I'd also like to have a respectable art job, with a steady flow of viewers. Not be a big and huge artist, no no no, that's not what I mean. I want my art to make people happy, to make them laugh, smile, cry...that's the whole reason I'm in this business. Money doesn't mean squat to me, it's nice, but I don't need a lot to blow on expensive cars and clothes. I want people to LOVE my art, even if it's only a few people, because then I'll know I'll make a difference. That's all I can wish for

After figuring out my dreams, it wasn't hard to come up with the picture afterwords I'm very happy with the result. I even made all the brushes for the leaves and paper! (I hope it's not too overwhelming...)

Jay is my angel, that's all there is to it

I hope you guys enjoy this one, I put my heart into it. I hope it shows too. It would be nice if I win something, but'cha know what? I'm ok if I don't.

Because my dream is on it's way to coming true, one day at a time. As they say, love conquers all

But then again, if I did win, would that mean my dream is a good one? I'm not counting on it though XD

Lineart - Mechanical Pencil on Copy Paper - 3-4 hours
Flats - Photoshop 7 - almost 7 hours
Shading - OpenCanvas 4+ - 11 hours
Brushes (Leaves and Paper) and finishing touches - Photoshop 7 - 1 hour
-Total: 23+ hours
(The longest I've EVER spent on a cg, besides freelance works!)

*BTW - This used to be at 600dpi, but my Dell couldn't handle it. So it's now at 300dpi, and even this is resized. It's the smallest I could go without loosing the detail! I am really sorry it's so big though
