the sheen of his skin is amazing.
Like fire is encased in his eye.

Iβm not sure If you realize this Todd that the first time I seen this was an hour after he died. Picture taken Dec 3, 2005 his death Dec 5, 2005.
The small area that you captured is more revealing than a photo of him ever could be, this is a testimonial for people who say βwhy not just take a photoβ, no photo could ever do this and very, very few painters could, this painting brings a bit of him back.
Well Iβm in tears now, damn it all.
Love you bro
Armin

Donβt you start to cry, because if you do then Iβm going toβ¦
I never did realize that was the first time that you saw it. Now that you say it, I suppose that it must have been. I still kills me that he never got to see the piece. Yeah, it is much like the drawing of your mom, it has nothing to do with a photo, and everything to do with being the one that painstakingly labors over every inch of the piece. There is some kind of obligation rooted in love going on there.
I love you to my brother.

Thank you. I still struggle with how to write about this piece. I am sticking with the less is more approach.
