I love folding that size of crane... stringing them up must be hard, I generally just store them in glass jars.

Stringing them up makes them easy to count, though, and you can pin them up on the wall as decoration! I agree, jars are much easier

The hardest part about the 1000 of them is getting the paper for it, I need to go out and see if I can find any place where I live that sells it.

1) Yes! 2) In my lifetime, short as it is yet, I have made four lots of 1000 cranes, three of them I gave to close friends. Not planning to make a further 1000 yet...maybe when I have more time again.
