The Erinyes are ancient beings, believed to be even older than the Olympian gods. More commonly known as the Furies, the Erinyes are punishers, who can be summoned to descend upon the earth to torment and torture those who commit crimes. Each Erinye is unique, corresponding to a particular crime and wielding a signature weapon. The Erinye seen above is one of the most famous, Tisiphone, the punisher of murderers.
