Description Homework assignment for the background class being held at

This color comp is kinda flicted. How you gonna have mist in a desert? Oh well, I guess it makes the towers look more mysterious.

You should be very happy with the way this has turned out. Knowing that it has a purpose to progress you with academic studies you should take great happiness in knowing that it's really quite good. The towers stand out for me; the sense of technology in the form of two towers is an interesting and well devised contrast to the natural landscape. The rock faces have lovely tones and colours although I would advise a broader range of sizes concerning your brush strokes for more realistic randomising in your textures.

Interestingly I hadn't notice until late that I was looking at liquid yellow. I was convinced it was a desert. I can see you've made great attempts to show reflection and shallow view of the rock faces in the liquid.

My overall recommend is to look at where the thick brush strokes are and remember to try fining things slightly to give it more realism, but this is a really convincing step for you.

This is truely great, if I was in your position I would be bouncing off the walls with how good this looks! My one suggestion is to not be afraid to use a wider range of colors, to contrast the shadows and else things. Contrast really makes objects pop, and would be especially useful for the crevices of the rock, and to show light source more evidently from making sheens on the towers. Overall, amazing job!

Yeah, I agree. I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to do that in the future. Thanks!

*Contrast in the background, the foreground looks really nice. However, you might want to fade out the shadow in the foreground rocks (not by blurring, but by fading the ranges of colors) to show that its sloping down, not up.
