Of note, this is a 1957 model as opposed to the traditional 1963 Beetle used to portray Herbie.This is the Herbie that went over the tires at Riverside in the first movie, and was later repainted yellow and green for Herbie Rides Again for the climax of the movie, where it crawls out of a junkyard and joins Herbie's army of Bugs.

I think I saw a video showcasing this particular car... On the glovebox it has a bunch of signatures,and a message "No more Irish coffee!" or something like that...

About the only difference between the 2 cars,,,,,,,,, was the gas gauge, the '57 had on gauge. A neighbor had on of these, it was a '58,,,, no gauge,,,,,,,,,,, but he solved this problem by putting a totaled 1959 356 engine in it, cut the dash where the gauge was & riveted it in place on the dash. Ran the appropriate pluming/wiring harness and never had to add or subtract in the car again. Plus with that engine he startled a few around the neighborhood. And to get everybody's dander up,,,,, he installed 4 "STROMBURG" 97 carbs down draft's to the engine......
