But is Miku really the "bad girl" ... she looks so sad and desperated in some of the images of the video ... and can we really be sure Luka is not an (evil) witch? (Dark Demon Wings, Supernatural strengh to tear the ropes that hold her to the cross)

Hehe, after seeing this video a lot of people want to see Miku at the cross ( and maybe also Gapuko as he is just as guilty as Miku ... the scene with the hair alone ... 
My main problem with the ending is that it hints that she is a witch, and maybe also did all she was accused for.
If she would have died innocently it would be very sad, but sad or shocking endings also have a very emotional impact and would have worked better ... or if that is too sad that the the prince changes his mind and rescue her, and they flee together to live a normal life and live happy ever after ... sometimes i can be a romantic
