I thought it was time to draw my Cavitto again! I was unsure how to show him next, as I didn´t want to throw him into any competitions yet. Plus, I´ve wanted to retell a bit of his emotional past…a pretty sad story. I´ve teared up a bit while typing it, actually.

I had some trouble with the background this time, because I´ve wanted to get the feeling across. As I was messing it up, I chose to edit a premade one (see credits below).

”This night, I dreamed again of you.

It is one of my favourite dreams…we stand on the riverbanks, looking at the full moon. You stroke my neck, looking as gorgeous as you always did. The night is silent; all we hear is the water, some late birds which are still awake and the music of our heart and souls, singing together as one.

I was still with you back then, my Moon Goddess. We used to spend every free minute together, and when we watched the water flow, you often leaned your head against me and whispered:

´Make them shine for me.´

And I did make them shine. Thousands of flowers in a lavenderish blue, your favourite colour. They reflected the moonlight, and as the wind blew softly, their seeds flew up to the heavens, looking like faeries. You used to look at me, tears of joy and emotions in your eyes and the sweetest smile on your face. I loved to make your smile; it made my heart jump of joy.

One day you told me that you were lonely; that you were jealous of us equine beings because it was easier for us to find a mate. We were laying in the flower field near the river, you leaned against me, and with your softest voice you spoke:

`Oh how I do wish you were of human appearance…I would no longer need to look for a mate, for you own my heart and my soul.´

I have never wished more to be human than I did in this moment. I would have given everything to be able to be your mate, for I have loved you like I have never loved anyone before.

I still do, and I will always.

Then you met him, the young prince with eyes as blue as the flowers I used to create for you. He had the same name as I did…you never noticed it.

I became a mere horse to you. You visited me only if you wanted to go for a ride, mainly to visit him. I saw how happy he made you, therefor I remained silent – for I never wished for more than to see you happy.

But my heart was broken.

We have been separated for so long now, my Princess, but still is everything in me yearning to get back to you. I have met this young human girl who could be your twin sibling, and her heart is as kind as yours is.

Is she a sign you send me to get back to you?

Please, sing to me once more, and I will light up your moon flowers brighter than ever, letting them shine for eternity.”
