Description - FAQ - Commission Info -

Commission for meowllz on LJ. Swablu and Altaria were fun to do XD But I am a bit worried about their antennas (?), since they are quite delicate. Is there anything way that I can make them stronger? (like... coat them with something?)

Made entirely from STAEDTLER FIMO clay, No paint used.

Swablu is about 1.5cm tall and Altaria is about 2.5 cm tall

Commissioned piece, not for sale (:

Thanks (:

I think it's actually a really clever idea to use cotton wools though!

I use sculpey glossy glaze and it helps a tiny with strength. I assume it'd work on any polymer clay.

Velly nice. And if you weren't using the FIMO clay, you could mix in the materials with an epoxy to help them stay strong.

Oh yes, and Mod Podge can help make them a bit stronger, possibly? But it does add a slight gloss to them (even the matte kind does) and sometimes it will cause them to feel sticky like enamel paints do, so I'm not sure if it's a great idea. I tend to use a wire armature for small, thin parts to prevent breaking.

They are absolutely adorable. Is it bad if they remind me of candy with yogurt-covered wings? *shot*

You could try something like Sculpey glaze...it makes it stronger. I also have this weird idea...maybe putting wire in the center of the antennas could strengthen it, but it might be too thick for tiny figures. ;A; Haven't tried that yet.
