Being new to "the game" here, please pardon any potentially ignorant questions...
1. Which do you prefer, drawing the comic (like this), writing them...or both? (go, complete creator control!)
2. Damn, Svetta....mild-mannered teacher by day...and dynamic superheroine artist/writer by night? And given the sheer amount of work you produce here...it begs the question: do you ever sleep?
Wait a minute....maybe you are being hypnotized into producing so many stories because....oh, even worse!...it's much like the idea behind A NEW NIGHTMARE (one of the Freddy Krueger/Nightmare on Elm Street films)...shamanic idea: the more you tell a story, the more it "binds" reality....and some evil force is USING Svetta to keep writing superheroine peril tales...and when the stories reach "maximum reality saturation" point...lo and behold...it will come true! Earth Prime Svetta is being manipulated to control and humiliate the heroines of Earth-Onpyh!
Or I just need to go back to bed...and lay off the caffeine so early in the morning.
Fun Ice Maiden comic, by the way.

Hmm...well, there are limitations to both. I generally believe I'm better at writing than I am at drawing, but I can draw a lot more quickly than I can write a great little story. Drawing, you can show the reader exactly what you mean, whereas when you write you just have to hope the reader imagines things almost exactly as you do. And drawn comic strips generally are a lot more fast paced than superhero prose, and when you're writing an action sequence a medium as quick and expressive as drawing is very useful. They both have their merits.
There was this one book I read a while back, 'Malice'; the bulk of it was written prose, but the action sequences were done as a comic strip. That worked really well.
Hehe...I really don't produce THAT much...in comparison to others, and in proportion to how much time I waste on videogames and TV. And how much I start doing and either completely mess up or just lose interest in. The stuff posted here is the result of roughly 7% of my time over about three years (I think) since I started writing Ubergirl stuff.
Hmm... Well, if that's true, Ultragirl will probably break into our universe at some point and murder us all for a quick laugh...
...yeah, not looking forward to that bit. :/
Thankies!

Very nice drawing, very nice work with her expression and pose after she is surprised. The panels are looking great to tell the story.

Thankies on all points!
I was worried that the panels might be a little bit confusing, but that doesn't seem to be too big a problem

You are welcome.
Oh not at all, you did an amazing work with the panels.
Good Luck with the contest.

Neat! Though there's still quite a while to go, hopefully loads more people are working on their entry right now!

Thankies! The pose in that panel was easily the most awkward to draw, so I'm glad someone appreciates it! ^.^
I may have started drawing them before remembering that she has a mask :/
Like you said, they're really important for expressions! And I kinda defaulted to starting to draw Tora Olafsdotter before I remembered that the Icemaiden in question here is the OTHER one, Sigrid. The mask was kinda a last minute addition, and parts of her costume (like the fluffy fur trim) are still quite Tora-ish here

I don't think I will and, given the size of the prizes on offer, I would feel very uncomfortable if I did! Like, I'd happily do this for a render or two, actual cash prizes are something else entirely... :/
(speaking of prizes, your story request for the Hellfall Ubergirl contest is NEARLY ready! Me and Jessie are working together on it, I'm doing the first half, she's doing the second. My half is mostly done!)

Also, shame on you Svetta! You're a teacher. Perhaps you should go back to school. "Me and Jessie are working...."
I was always taught you should say "Jessie and I"

The ordering on those is actually just manners, always putting the other person first. And the "I"...yeah. My bad. If you hadn't been in that sentence it would have been "Me am working"...which is fine, on Bizzaroworld...

Hey!! That's totally not fair! As I recall, the conversation went like this:
"Jess, we've got to do a crossover"
"Yes, Svetta, I've been saying that for ages"
"No, like, we NEED to do one as a prize."
"Oh! I was kinda gonna start an important story arc for Wisp. I could delay it"
"That's fine. You go ahead. It will be some time before I get around to it anyway"
"You mean like Toygirl?"
*Svetta ignored me for several days* *A while later*
"Ok! So, I've done my half of the crossover. Your turn"
"Dangit! Svetta! I told you that I was about to start an important story arc! I can't just stop it"
"That's fine. We'll do the stories at your pace then"
And now you're blaming me! And to think, I thought Ubergirl was a hero!
Ok, it might not have gone exactly like that. But it's close enough. Also, Svetta; you can post your part whenever! (Please do it before someone else does a Wisp story! That way I can write a journal about the person who introduced me to the heroine side of da was the first to write about my heroine)

"Please do it before someone else does a Wisp story!"
(looks around, grinning)
What? Who? Like ME?
Muah-hah-Hah-hah-hah-HAHHHH!
Let's see...I lose count...oh, the humiliating plans I have for Wisp....

FairyPrincessJess In reply to Hadalis [2016-09-16 12:43:44 +0000 UTC]
Exactly like you! Svetta was the first heroine I came across so I thought it would be an awesome moment to officially name her as the first Wisp fan to write a story

Hadalis In reply to FairyPrincessJess [2016-09-16 12:51:03 +0000 UTC]
Well...not to be too technical here...but ZorroVenom sort of beat me to the role of first male reader to write a Wisp story....yes, a comic is a story, too....
And I just love how he drew her helpless fluttering wings....

FairyPrincessJess In reply to Hadalis [2016-09-16 12:52:26 +0000 UTC]
is awesome! But he knows that already. I tell him lots.
Wisp more so features in that. She's not the main character! Not by a longshot

Hadalis In reply to FairyPrincessJess [2016-09-16 13:24:52 +0000 UTC]
Yah, but he still "wrote" her in that scene....so does that mean that he beat both Svetta and me? Yikes!

True, true...and no more "hijacking of this thread by me...promise.
But by Svetta's admission above, Jess...she has (sort of) written Wisp before me! Even as a guest star? So...see? No more worries.
