How do u set it up? Do u start with a block of hard sand?

haha,
not quite. i don't know much, but from what i do know - they have a huge dump of sand (and it can't be beach sand because that's been pushed around too much and the tiny tiny edges have been warn down to blunt) so they get the sand from somewhere underground where it hasn't been touched.

then they just compact it in layers as they go along and build it up, and the sand with the sharp edges stick together much better than standard sand.

don't ask why i said that. i'm just really bored...
