Ah yes, Grogar... another great badass from the Generation 1 MLP cartoon. Of all the G1 MLP episodes, "Return of Tambelon" is one of the few I remember from my childhood, to this very day. It's also one of my favorites - mostly because it was a multiparter, and watching it almost felt like watching a film.Grogar's design was inspired by the one done by :devpeechiekeenie: - I really, reall adore how she managed to make Grogar look even more badass than he already was, and keep the spirit of the original at the same time.
As for the technical side of the drawing: I was messing around with my blue pencil again today. Such a nifty little tool.

You're not the only one! xD I have a character inspired by Psycrow from Earthworm Jim; see? [link] The reason why I made this type of character is because like you said, except Psycrow is has an extremely zany and kooky design! xD; So you're not alone. Though this may not be like an OC related issue/thing, it's sort of proves my point here. ^ ^
