i dont know what u mean really, i use black fabric as background. then, the model must stand 1m or further in front of it, not right in front... and the light must be directed at the model, not at the background. i hope that helps.

They are tendon marks, I believe, judging by how his arms are positioned, strained, and muscular. Forces the tendons to pop out like that sometimes.

Those aren't cut marks. They are vein and tendon marks. >.> If you look at the rest of his arms, you can see it's part of several ones that are bulging due to his muscles and position of his arms which are straining the tendons to act in such a way. >.>
