Description The gardens and courtyard of the Palais Royale in Paris is a great place to hang out and watch people, even on a sunny, rainy day.

theres a french movie, called "umbrellas of ___ [some town name that i forgot]", thats the english title obviously, but this picture reminded me of it!. its such a sweet movie cuz while its in french, everything is sung. everything. there is no spoken words. and of course there are english subtitles but yah.

I love the simplicity, and strangely at the same time, the complexity of this image;
the inability to see the subjects faces adds to the mood of the image, as does the colour, especially those of which the people within are wearing, it gives us an idea of their personalities;
the lighting definitely compliments the image as well

sunny rainy days are so neat, and pretty rare here.
all those tiny water drops are amazing. they make the top of the image look like an old speckled photograph, an illusion that's totally shattered by the bright girls with their umbrellas at the bottom.

Rainy sunny days offer great oppertunities, which you seized with both hands.
Predictable, but great. I love the raindrops!

I really like the frozen rain, a beautifully captured situation. I tried this myself once [link] but your street is wonderfully complete, with the rain, the people and the umbrellas you got nature, life and color in there. I never was particulary impressed by your studio shots, but this and your recent paris shots makes me watch you

Captures the colors very nicely, I love how the raindrops are hanging like that, is this the 200mm prime or 70-200mm?

It's raining right now, the raindrops against the window really add to the atmosphere when viewing this.

You have such a great (and quick!) eye. Great composition. And I love the way the light illuminates the individual droplets. Magical.

True enough.
Now compare that to living in Singapore for three years; The equator. Tropical summer all year around. No air to breath, but 90+% humidity. And just when you get a little tropical rain, you have to into the freezing aircon soaking wet ><
Fun

but if you live in canada like me, winter gets old pretty fast after a few months of short, dark, cold days, freezing and digging out of the snow, we're all looking for a little sun.

lol yeah i remember what it was like in thailand. i can imagine that would get tiresome. i know canadians who complain moving to san jose, california, where every single day the sky is blue and cloudless, the temperature a dry 27 degrees C, and all they can do is play tennis and surf in the pacific ocean. poor souls

It is a tough life they lead All we can do is... well... Pray for a different season and stay jealous -_-

I must put California on my list of places to go soon. VERY soon.
