I love this! I especially love the the way you drew her hands and feet; it gives it a very ethereal, dreamy feel.

Argh, sorry I've not gotten round to your tutorial - just *so* busy irl! D=
Tis is how I approached this when I started to colour;
1) Colour your pic in using flat, solid colours
2) Take an airbrush, and set it to a level of jitter according to the part you want to colour - larger areas get larger jitter, etc.
3) choose a colour similar, but slightly different in either shade or hue.
4) Airbrush that on top of the solid colour!
That's pretty much it -
For Naija, I just used some colours that went well together - so for her green base, I used a lighter green as a way to get a more skin-like texture, then on that same colour, I selected a much darker shade, and airbrushed that as shadows, and then a much lighter shade of the same colour for light - and then lightly added blues and purples around the shady areas! :]
That's pretty much it!
If that's a bit unclear, I'll definitely sit down and make a tutorial to upload here or something. :]

Thank you so much *o*
I'm really sorry for not replying sooner, gosh, you wrote me around a month ago! I was so damn busy ;o; And I still will be for a year OTL
Thank you so-so much again. (: I don't think that a tutorial will be necessary, but if you have time and get some inspiration on it then it would be awesome to see it. (:

The only thing I could critique, besides anatomy concerns that could have quite easily been deliberate stylistic choices, is that I am not sure she could feasibly stand like that without falling over. x3 Again though, that might have been a decision you consciously made, just to emphasize the curves of the linework, especially that big S curve she makes. The colors are lovely and her skintone really evokes the sea for me. Her fin-like appendages help. x3 The expression looks thoughtful yet pained, profoundly emotional.

I THOUGHT she might be in water, but I wasn't quite sure! I think it's implied, but maybe I needed to be hit over the head with it more for me to realize. x3 The glow/lighting effects around her do give off that impression, as does her colors and movement. It's the challenge of communicating that without an obvious background to tell the viewer, I suppose!
Lovely piece <3 ^^

This is gonna sound odd, but I particularly like the linework of her feet, knees, and shoulders--the contours here feel so unique, so particular to a single, specific source, like you were really looking at a person/model and studying the lines that were truly there to form those features. *enjoys figure drawing*

The expression on her face, I mean. xD If that wasn't clear. *rambles more*

Love the colors! Just fix the anatomy, and it will be great! Does photoshop have an equivalent brush?

Yeah, huge thanks to you and the others in the ZU thread for the critique!
Redrawing her by tracing the original pencils, but fixed the shoulder and the legs, so the pose looks more natural and resized her entire lower body a bit to look less enormous, so things flow better anatomically like you guys pointed out! :]
Serious thanks for taking the time to critique - really appreciate it!
The brush was just the standard airbrush tool set on some 70%ish opacity and then throwing different colours down.
