This is an unused cover I did for my buddy Jason's upcoming book, 'Rabid,' from Viper comics. I have no idea what it's about (though I could hazard a guess...), but was just directed to draw a snarling dog with blood dripping from it's mouth. I had just a few hours to finish this, and in the end, they decided it looked too similar to a Cujo box cover. So, I did another one quickly after and they went with that one instead. The book should be out in March, same time as Dummy's Guide.Related content

Wow, thanks! Well, I'm not sure the book is still in print, but it was published by Viper Comics, [link] so you might be able to find a copy through them or on ebay.

thanks! the book still came out, but the interior artist ended up doing the cover, which is how it really should have been. so, no harm, no foul!

If you've ever seen the Neverending Story, you might know that this reminds me of the "nothing" from the movie... That wolf thing gave me nightmares for years as a child! (this is still a wicked piece, but it just reminded me of that...)

i have seen the neverending story--but it's been a long time! loved that movie as a kid. you're spot on, though--this pic does look like that wolf.

I'd prefer a cover that made me think of K-9. Have you ever seen that? It's awesomely bad. It's a Cujo rip-off, only the dog can also turn invisible.
