kaien and ichigo act alot alike so i kinda find it a little disturbing that the main pairing seems to be ichigoXrukia... when rukia used to like kaien. I just dont feel it fair to ichigo, ya know?

In recent chapters, after Kukkaku sent Ichigo to the Royal dimension, she explains to Ganju that she had to do it even if it meant dissapointing their "Uncle". This could mean anything. However, if the "Uncle" Kukkaku is talking about ends up being Isshin, then it would be a pretty decent explanation as to why Ichigo resembles Kaien so much.

SPOILER: Isshin is a Shiba and was actually the head of the Shiba clan; this basically makes Ichigo a cousin to Kukkaku, Ganju, and Kaien.

I honestly believe Ichigo IS Kaien and that he was born a Vizard because of the way he died. Why else would Hichigo and Zangetsu BOTH disappear when he used the Final Getsuga Tenshou. Seeing as how it destorys one's Shinigami powers, Hichgo's powers and Ichigo's reiatsu should have survived.

It's one of the best screens I saw about them and first time I saw him I realised why Rukia belived Ichigo from the start.
But - to be honest - I think that Rukia adored him as a ideal senpai or brother and even if it was crush somewhere there, she knew he had a wife he TRULY loved (which was showed very good, especially in anime) and she wanted to be LIKE her, not her as taking her place.
As for Kaiens' wife I though she looks much like Orihime - just with the black hairs.

This is funny and I also agree with it. I can't help but think these two may have been attracted to one another back then or at least felt that way (as in that their bond had the potential to go deeper) but never pushed the boundaries.

Besides, Rukia loved Kaien in a complex way, yet simplistic way. She's grown since then and hasn't compared Ichigo to Kaien once. She saw the same, frightening situation where she had to watch Kaien die repeated with Ichigo, but I think, with how talented Kubo is, he'd make it a bit more palpable if Rukia's connection to Ichigo was solely because of Kaien.

I think that when she first met Ichigo she remembered Kaien because Ichigo does look like Kaien... but while spending time with him, she started to think about Ichigo himself and not Ichigo because he is similar to Kaien...

That`s one of the reasons, why I am not an IchiRuki fan.
Because Ichigo is NOT Kaien! They are completely 2 different characters!

u wanna no somthin'...kairuki is the feudal version of ichiruki. even though i love ichihime, i can really see why rukia its possible that she mite start to fall for ichigo.
