Another great shot! I like the swirling pattern on your outfit. The outfit Jolie wears also has a pattern, but it is more linear rather than curving. Nice attention to that detail.
BTW, if you check out my main page, this past Halloween I put together a Maleficent costume for my wife. Since my wife doesn't look anything like Jolie, it is more of an inspired design. BUT I DID use real horns.

Yes, the original dress from the movie has a little different pattern, but I couldn't find any fabric with that exact pattern so I bought this one and I think it fits quite well

Usually when I see those that do the 'christening' or traditional style costume for Maleficent, they get the shape and style of the robes right, but often they overlook the details in the pattern. Nice that you took it into consideration. And yes, I understand that it probably difficult to track down the exact pattern used in the movie.
Thank you. Yes, her costume was a labor of love on both counts as I love my wife and I love Maleficent. That is how the cosplay came about. I wanted to put my two loves together. I do admit the results exceeded my expectations. The only thing was I thought that my wife had 'too sweet' of a facial presence to pull off a menacing look. Well, this shot proved me DEAD wrong:

I didn't even catch this as I took the shot. It was later when I went through the pictures I was like Holy Crow! That was the menacing look I was after.
Oh! I forgot to mention that the look I was going for my wife's costume was how Maleficent looked at the end of the movie during Aurora's coronation when she is wearing that beautiful off-the-shoulder dress with the long bell sleeves. Like I said, because my wife doesn't look anything like Jolie, the look is 'inspired' from the movie.

Yes, I was really surprised with that look. I didn't think she could do it, but when I showed it to her, she was able to repeat it and I took other pictures of her with that look, but that one was still the best one. It is like the pictures I commented on with your Naruto character. There is that one or two that is the 'money shot'.

Yeah, I think it makes a huge difference, if you're just standing in front of a camera and don't "feel" anything whilst posing or if you try to bring out all the emotions just by the look in your eyes. Because I think you can clearly see that in the picture afterwards

Well, I have seen most of the shots you have done with that Naruto character and while all the shots are good, those two particular ones where you have 'that look', they just stand out. And yes, I certainly could feel something from those shots. That was the point I was trying to get across with my wife. I have tons pictures of her in costume where she is playing around and smiling and giggling and acting cute or posing like a fashion model. Doesn't work. The shots where she has that menacing look, those are awesome.

Not so much of a menacing look here, but she isn't wearing the cape so you see how the dress looks on her. Even though it is mostly 'Jolie inspired', it still turned out to be a very attractive look.
I am going to do costumes again this year instead of a show. So, yeah, I am going to make her another costume. What I thought of doing was a genderbend role. I would be a male Maleficent, and she would be a female Diaval. It depends though. We will see if I go that route.

It was actually here where I got the idea. I was impressed with this one fellow that did a genderbent Maleficent and he wore a really nice suit with the horns. Most other genderbent Maleficent's still use some kind of 'robe'. So I found the different approach of using a suit to be cool.
