I chain mine. You're never gonna get anything with soft resets, except maybe the EXTREMELY slim chance for a shiny legendary--and then your chances are still only 1/8192

yeah,it can still take days or months with resets. The radar for me is always unlucky since bidoofs or something stupid interrupts my chain.

Mmmm, bidoofs are so evil. They're cute but they do have a knack for chain breaks. But I've gotten pokeradar chaining down to ...allllmost a science. I've taken the best advice from several guides and tested out what works and doesn't. It just takes practice. And a ton of patience. And now I'm chainin stuff that's all rares like sentret and mareeps and tauros and swablu.

There are a lot of guidelines to consider. A guide I originally used is on youtube: [link]

Then I found some other guide some other place that was good. On top of the rules in that youtube guide, another huge pointer is this: if your patches are bunched up in one portion of the screen, it's prolly a good idea to reset. Then another pointer is that if you have 3 spots all close together and another way way far away from the others that looks seemingly good--STAY AWAY IT WANTS TO BREAK YOUR CHAIN OH GOD. Everyone likes to fall for that one, myself included. And then another random pointer--stuff only available to find with pokeradar, like nidorans or aron or mareep or swablu--those are only in patches that are yellow shaky--not green shaky.

Oh,I do the opposite,I go twardrs the seemingly good patch XD.Well today I managed to get past a 7 chain!I got 13,11,7.New record for me X) still no shinesy though.I do know about the yellow shaky,so no worries there

Well, it takes a ton of practice, trust me. If you don't have patience, you'll never get a good chain. My best chain is 75. And really, you never need to get that high--only get to 40 and reset til you see shiny patches.
