Description A little test concerning volume destruction. I just love to see things fall apart. I can see how this can be used in awesome animations.

it's kinda cool the way it breaks apart, but it feels a bit fake. I think after the first few pieces fall off the rest should kinda crumble and collapse. It kinda just looks like it's shrinking toward the end

I see, I'm plannig to make an entire room or city to crumble like that. I'll keep in mind about that collapsing part And then there will be a source for destruction.

How do you thin I can make it more convincing?

well all of the cracks should come from one source like hidrogenisis said. When pieces fall off everywhere it leaves large pieces connected by very narrow segments; it just looks kinda unnatural. also when making it "collapse" just remember that each piece should have some weight and therefore effect the other pieces. also make sure they don't get any smaller.

okay thanks Volume is hard to maintain. Since this was just a test I made the pieces fall randomly. Next time (I hope) I'll add the realism

Very nice use of perspective/lighting. It looks pretty believable as far as cartoon animations are concerned.

Hidrogenesis [2011-08-25 20:37:01 +0000 UTC]

there's missing a determinated point on wich presure was applied, without it, it doesnt look right, though it is very well animated

I don't really understand?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Hidrogenesis In reply to Sunny-GO [2011-08-26 02:14:57 +0000 UTC]

i though you wouldnt, but this is what i mean, there isnt a real source of force wich originates the breaking, this source must always be specific, if not it dosent look realistic.
In this animation crakers start from nowhere, wich is not bad, wich is bad is they originate in different places, first at a vertex, then crackers just start from the sides of the cube, that dont look realistic, its not its bad animated or anything, its just the force must have a source, and the force is unidirectional and only has 1 source.
Crackers coming up from everywhere dont look realistic, thats what im saying, they may look goodsometimes, but they dnt fit reality, thats all.

Ah now I see. I know what youΒ΄re getting at. But this was a test, so i made the cracks and debris fall randomly. ThatΒ΄s also why I did not create a source or cause for the destruction

Perfect syncronization with the animation and audio. Deconstruction animation!
And the volume is also lowering as the crumbling is lessening. That is also great.

how u do it?! : D

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sunny-GO In reply to YA2012 [2011-08-25 13:12:06 +0000 UTC]

Well you start with the base shape. And you animate chunks out off the shape without the debris.

So what you'll see is the cube shrinking in volume. On top of that you animate the missing pieces as falling debris

Might be confusing :s

sorry about my english,I think you're the best flash animator

No, this is an original animation. I used the 'pose to pose' technique in combination with 'straight ahead'.
