Shiranui Is beautiful. Many people tell stories of her but here is a short one I heard from the game: Shiranui is Amaterasu 100 years ago. Her markings are not seen to normal people, but to other gods much like her can see her markings clearly. Amaterasu transforms into Shiranui at the very end. when you finish the game 1 or 2 times, you get her markings.

No, it is Amaterasu.
Actually, if you really paid attention to the game and played it through, Amaterasu and Shiranui are the same being. Shiranui was only a name given to Amaterasu by the villagers. This is evident, clearly, with each brush you acquired (By means when you gain a new power, when it hits Ammym you see a flicker of her true self). And of course at the very end when you have all of the brushes, she is her true self, which is how Shiranui looked.. Amaterasu's true form.

Okami is a video game for PS2. The main charater is Okami Amaterasu (the wolf) And you have to collect all 12 brush gods (chinese zodiacs) that you lost 100 years ago after a battle with orochi (main boss in begining)But to obtain all the brush gods you must travel all around the land. Thats the short way of putting it ^^
