Description
Scanned in another sketch from late last semester and colored it in class c:This is a character of mine, though he still needs a name as well as his species.
I'm still figuring out their body structure, so that's not set in stone yet.
They are also from my main headworld, but are few in number like many of the
other dragon species.

their anatomy and structure. They are just for my headworld though, so I don't plan

Yeah, I love his head design. Actually sometimes I just start by making lots of unusual
head shapes, and if I like the concept I'll design a body for it!

Really? I can see that- I find that by drawing multiple circles and lines very faintly over my paper can create some very crazy looking bodies too. OVO I just found out about the circle technique, and already my creatures are looking so much more lifelike! XD

Ah yeah, though once I got the head down it usually takes me awhile to develop

Yep, it all depends on the head for me. If the head ain't right, the rest of the character won't be right. O_O
I think its a matter of the facial expressions and getting the characteristic out that you can see the rest of them. Pose reflects manner and pose, I suppose. D;

I adore the shape of that head, especially from the front. Β I've a soft spot for needle noses. The color scheme is interesting as well, what with it being overall warm but the reds Β subtly popping, to bring attention to, highlighting the key points. For some reason I hear Β " I may hide on earth but I'm a being of fire. I'll not scatter like dust as you may think." in my head when I look at his face.
Forgive me, I'm fawning over here. I think he's gorgeous, if you couldn't tell.Β

Ah thank you! That description you gave sounds pretty spot on, though. They live deep
in tropical jungles, but they are generally associated with fire.
Unfortunately, I haven't haven't been very diligent in finding a name for these guys. I do
have a few ideas for this character himeself, though.

Perhaps you could call the species Β Erythrim or Ru'sylvae? Erythrism refers to unusual reddish pigment and Ru'sylvae is a play off the latin words for red ( rubra, rubrum) and Sylvae ("of the forest", woods). Just some suggestions to help you on your way~

Their face shape is my favorite of all their features! Ah yeah
its hard to tell what's going on with the wings, but I will make
a ref for them later on.
