MARVEL's Captain America and Iron ManAfter reading MARVEL's Civil War and the events thereafter. This was something I really wanted to draw. This is not so much a "What If" scenario as a "What I Wish Happened".

Added this part July 23, 2012This is apparently one of my most popular and most controversial pieces. And since I am tired of Iron Man fans commenting about how Iron Man could so easily beat Captain America, I want to clear something up.
CAPTAIN AMERICA BEAT IRON MAN IN THE FINAL BATTLE OF CIVIL WAR, but before he could finish him civilians jumped in and stopped him."The fighting between many of Earth's heroes led to the middle of Times Square. At the climax of the battle, as Cap was about to deliver a finishing blow to Iron Man, he was tackled by several emergency workers."

So officially, according to MARVEL comics canon CAPTAIN AMERICA CAN AND HAS BEATEN IRON MAN IN A FIGHT. Read your comics kids don't just be a fan.

"Read my comics too." Why don't you reread my description, slowly, take your time, consider the meanings of the words and how they relate to the drawing. Maybe you'll comprehend what I was trying to say with this drawing. Here's a hint it has nothing to do with whether Captain America could beat Iron Man in a fight.
Perhaps you'll get it, you probably won't. You obviously missed it the first time you read it so I'm not holding out hope. But honestly I don't care whether you get it or not. Like I said, "I am tired of Iron Man fans commenting"

Brilliant as usual, man. Perhaps, there should be more visible damage on Iron Man's armor, though (as depicted in Civil War), but that changes nothing. It's still a terrific job.

Actually in Civil War Captain America had Iron Man on the ground and about to finish him but civilians jumped in and grabbed him before he could.

But I appreciate your opinion. I drew this after Captain America was arrested and then killed and I was mad. I like Iron Man, I just like Captain America better.
